I'm not sure if its because of mine or your bad English but I didin't actually men he's gonna fight lol.

Pasi Nurminen expects fights from German team's players, as he says, it's common in German league.

A huge part of DEL players come from NHL and AHL where fighting is big part of the game.

I will definately watch the one of my favourite European team Kölner Haie against Kosice.

I'm cheering for Kosice as they are underdogs imo. But what a hell, who is who ? These CHL jerseys are looking pretty same !!! :help:

Actually they look like the jerseys they got on the NHL videogames for some European leagues when they don't have the full licence.... LOL I swear.

I got it now, English is difficult  That is for sure, it is expected from DEL teams. What I've been watching Rusty Klesla drops his gloves first... Justin Krueger was not so willing to fight Rusty at first...

1-0 Haie and finally they force Kosice into their own third with couple good opportunities. First 10 minutes Kosice was a lot better.

Attendance has nothing to do with the month. If this was DEL regular season stadium in Cologne would have 12,000 fans in it.

In German football even the 2. Bundesliga had an average of 20,000+ fans for the first two matchdays. Even the DFB-Pokal with many village teams as hosts had 11,000 average. lol

Last year ET finals had 1000 - 4000 fans at games despite hosts Eisbären Berlin playing and the games being in mid-season December. So I don't think CHL will create much interest in later months.

So you think the games in September will be better attendance wise?

I do not think anything about new CHL yet. In particular, I can not put any hope in first day of competition...

Well, as long as they don't quit playing their own leagues and start only playing CHL, its not going to be that big. I have always knew it. They are trying this same concept time and time again, only thing that really changes is the outlook of the package. I don't mind it though, its fun to see these international games. I wouldn't mind real european "NHL" where teams quit their own little leagues and go big, but they will never be able to do anything close to that. It takes balls size of melon from the team owners ect. KHL will be domestic league in Europe, if one league will be European big league.

I can't understand the idea of top scorer jersey in first match... Is it like, the first goal scorer for any team took this jersey first ?

Official league start is still about a month a away, fans minds aren't ready for hockey yet.

I don't think it has to do anything with the league start in particular. It is about how you look at this tournament. People just don't like to be fooled. It's not an best on best tournament where you qualify and can win a prestigous trophy (like CHL 2008-09 with huge spectator numbers).

And also why are teams playing NOW and not in October or November? So you really wonder why its seen as pre-season tournament?

Many fans can think it as pre-season tournament because it starts before season. What could easily lift this bit was that they started it at, say, late october or early november and played till spring. The only reason teams are suddenly trying to make it look serious is because Jokerit went KHL (in Finland). This tournament can't answer for that. They should base real "european NHL" to compete.

Western European KHL / NHL model or a top 16 / top 24 tournament which is played from october till january or sth like this. With lots of advertising for the tournament during regular season broadcasts.

Czechs with 3 completed games, all won so far. Two with shocking results against Swiss top team Bern (7-0) and DEL champions Ingolstadt (5-1).

exactly this. bolded part agree, but What I need to see is a real rivalry...

My team looks like Växjö out there. I might puke.
Skellefteås "top scorer" was 7th in scoring.
(Had a record breaking player loss this summer.)

And now a player got a concussion in the first game... I'm slowly growing a hate for this tournament.

Who got injured?

EDIT: Whup! SAIK ties it 1-1

If the tournament lasts for a longer time and teams play the same opponents more and more often, rivalries will build.

Just compare it to football champions league. Bayern-Real, Bayern-Barca, Real-Juventus etc are classics because these teams use(d) to kick each other out in the k.o. stage.

Liberec - Karpat 0:2 after first period. Here we are... Karpat Oulun seems to be a real competitor... nothing against Kalpa Kuopio.

edit - Cologne - Kosice 2:0 after first.
