GDT: CHL — September 5

What's really surpising is how much the German teams struggle. After all they have budgets similar to the Finnish teams.

especially in comparison to EBEL teams. Many people seems to think, that it is easily DEL >>> EBEL

Looked like DIF's fans were fighting each other but some reports suggest that a couple Berlin fans made their way there.

This happened between DIF and Union Berlin in football earlier this year: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UN0RQvE_S3Y

No germans were involved.

Purely an internal affair so to speak. Then the cops came in with pepper spray, which never really calms any crowded situation down.

All in all, nothing major happened though, no-one injured etc.

As I'm huge fan of EBEL, here we go EBEL >>> Extraliga aswell at the moment

Would love to see a tournament with DEL, EBEL, NLA and Extraliga champs! Something like the Central Europe Cup.

OK, let's make it more extravagant. The winner of that cup plays against the Nordic Cup winner (SWE, FIN). And the winner of that series plays against the KHL champ... The winner of that series then plays against the Stanley Cup Winner in a best of 7... We can dream, right? ;-)

Well, why not ? I'm not a fan of separate cups system. I'm still dreaming about European league and playoff then. Something like CHL with tradition, rivalries and prestige. And as I'm thinking about, there is no way for it, without Russian teams... just dreaming...

I really wonder that Finnish teams lose against teams from Austria and Italy.
I mean neither Austria nor Italy are hockey nations, they are inernationally nowhere.

TPS Turku loses against Bozen and Jyväskylä even 4-0 against Salzburg!!

It shows much certain teams depend on home ice and also of lack of concentration. I read comments that after TPS got into a 2-0 lead, they stopped playing. If you drop your focus, it's hard to get it back again.

It would worth separate discussion, but can you share these numbers? Or even any salaries info if you have it? We can get to budget info here in CZ, however unfortunately not to wages...The main reason why I am asking for it is that it is often used as a excuse why we can not built teams with long time vision here, according to managers - we can not simply pay these players. I always doubt it....

Estimated budgets for 14/15 in million €

Nuremberg 8.5
Wolfsburg 7.2
Düsseldorf 6.2
Krefeld 5.5
Iserlohn 5.3
Schwenningen 4.9
Augsburg 4.8
Straubing 4.8

Eh? The EBEL is pretty good. Salzburg beat HV71 and Karlstad couldn't win either of the matches against Vienna.

That's deppressing. I will try to find some official stats. But Sparta, which is considered as one of the most richest club in CZ should have estimated budget around 125 mil. Kč for this season, which is cca 4.7 mil EUR (tha should include complete costs for youth categories and stadium amenities). The rest could be like 3/4 of teams between 100 - 130 mil. Kč (3,7 - 4,8 EUR), two teams could have higher budget, the rest lesser.... In the same time there is always discussion that czech players in extraliga are overpaid...really confusing...
