No thanks to Cuzzins

Clarke would be lovely but I would like to know if another Center around the same ilk as Clarke is available as the prices to acquire them would be similar.

Doesn't make much sense, but you can always hope. Hope is what the plan seems to be at this point. Same thing as last management did. Throw some ideas and hope for the best right?
I mean it makes sense if it’s a guy with term.

I agree It was pretty stupid bench management. Beck was not even a problem when he did get shifts the puck was generally moving the right way. There is no use keeping him up if you aren't going to give him shifts after the PP and or the PK.
Plus Kent has two teams to manage for enough. Laval should be a priority as well and the best acquisition they can get is Beck.

Because teams are selling at this time of the year, you'll find that they need their guys with term to carry their club. Isn't it what's preventing some of you to be able to accept getting rid of our UFAs?

At some point Hope becomes delusion...

ROR for one of the 1st rounder would make the best add without changing the current chemistry IMO. He can fit right in now and solve a problem for the next 2 seasons afterward. You keep the locker room happy and build for next season, easy peasy, With the added bonus of Beck being in Laval for their playoff run.
ROR also has no trade clauses on his contract…

they should trade for the 2C now, even if the price is a little higher than in the offseason. ROR?

Then, they can trade Evans if the opportunity arises without giving up on the playoffs because it would be a net positive.

Beck stays or is sent down depending on how the Evans file works out.

Reactions: Draft and salbutera
Who ? O Reilly Kind of guy ? I don t Like the ice time management. Before the Break the Habs got destroyed because L1 was playing too much and it s the same again. Would Hope Beck would play more, he I has not looked out of place.
I threw out Laughton’s name before since he has an extra year on his deal. I wonder the same with Nick Schmaltz in Utah. Someone else mentioned Sissons for the same reason, but I don’t think he’s capable for a 2nd line even in the short term. Alex Wennberg in SJ? But he just signed in July.

He doesn’t
Playing on this team has to beat finishing the season with the Preds any day. I'm sure HuGo can talk him into it.
I meant RORs contract does not contain any NTC / NMC he can be dealt anywhere anytime

2yrs remaining at very manageable $4.5M AAV - he’s missed 33GP over last 5-seasons and 29 of those games was w a broken foot prior to being dealt from STL to Make Beliefs at deadline

Has Jake come down on his ask??
Jake may be overplaying his hand thinking that Hughes will have to give him top dollar or trade him for a high draft pick. If he doesnt trade him then Evans loses leverage over Hughes who shows he doesnt care about a trade return and then Evans has to decide how serious he is about staying. i think the $4M AAV was his opening bid. My suspicion now is that he signs a deal for less before the trade deadline

ROR would be my #1 target. I wanted him to be a priority this summer but maybe the plan has advanced because of the situation the Habs are in now. He’s an ideal player to take the pressure off Nick. Perfect veteran to have with Demidov and Laine next season. And we wouldn’t have to rely on Dvorak to win important faceoffs anymore.

Not gonna lie, Crosby would be perfect for this club (in full honesty, he is perfect for most clubs).

Would suck to waste assets for older player like that, but man, he would allow the habs to become a playoff club, which in turn would allow the young players to get playoff experience. Could also be a placeholder until Hage is ready/gives management time to find a younger centre.
