Thank you for the periodic updates - wishing him success with the Winterhawks.
I see one of the Weisblatts (some discussion earlier in the thread)was drafted in the 2nd round.

Damn he's my age and killing it in J18.
Matthew Savoie and Shane Wright had good numbers from the recent World Selects Invitational. Savoie's team won first.

Sidney Crosby was probably discovered way before the age of 13.
I think I read that he might play in the OHL cup as a double underager. I could be mistaken but if that is true then I would assume he is doing very good.Anybody know how Shane Wright with Don Mills Flyers is doing?
Matt Savoie has got 57 points in 17 games.
As mentioned in other thread, this young Ukrainian should be considered - Oleksii Myklukha
Dont know, if he is still considered as an "child prodigy".
Nice, but for us, independent fans from Europe, is unknown, in what a league is he playing.
He seems like the only true candidate here to be called child prodigy? He is two years younger than most guys and had those stats.Plays bantam prep in the csshl, which is the top bantam league (arguably) in western Canada. Same league as Sillinger who was mentioned above, except Savoie is a year younger. Already expected to be the top pick in the whl draft 1 year from now.
Matthew Savoie

Kid is incredible playing in the newly formed CSSHL which us essentially a western Canadian prep school league with teams from Winnipeg to Victoria. He's a doubke underager putting up those kinds of stats. Also has 3 points in 2 games in the elite 15 league. Which is a league meant for the most elite 15 year olds in all of western Canada. The league is young but the level of competition is the highest available for that age group in western Canada.
Not overly big, but strong and doesn't back down. He is incredibly skilled and fast, plus he is a very smart player who uses his line mates well. Scoutman said the last time he saw a 13 year old use his line mates the way Savoie does, he was watching a young Sid Crosby. What makes him so special? Is he already a big body guy? Or simply skilled guy? Or incredibly fast?
