Panarin for Marner+

Well, Toronto has a lot of skillful youngsters and a cap space. Chicago has a lot of pricey veterans and no cap space.

Panarin will definitely help Toronto to become a better team and is young enough for a rebuilding team.

Marner looks like a future star, who is signed to 3 year ELC and ready to play in the NHL right away. He and Toews would look pretty nice together.

As to plus to Marner, Toronto has a lot of young NHL ready wingers with potential, who can help Chicago to solve its cap situation.

Panarin is a wonderful player but as leaf fan this can't even be considered. Marner represents a big part of the leafs new culture and future it just wouldn't happen as good as Panarin is.

Uh....no. No thanks
Rebuilding teams don't trade...in your words...a future star, signed to an ELC and NHL ready.

Panarin is a 24 year old who put up nearly a PPG. His value would be pretty big

Oh yeah let's just stick him on the second line next to the Art Ross winner the Leafs have so he can repeat that PPG season.

The Leafs don't really have that much cap space right now anyway, our ELCs are going to be a big factor in being able to take the next step.

Leafs wouldn't touch this and that's no slight to panarin but we've learned out lesson about trading prospects. Also Marner/Nylander/Matthews is the future forward core. The only way Toronto even considers trading one is for a RHD of similar upside. I honestly can't think of one that fits this bill that their team would trade

Fan of both teams, think both teams say no.

Might have more appeal to Chicago though because Marner is cost controlled for the next 3 years.

Well, Panarin has one of the best one-timers in the whole league. He doesn't need Kane to score. Just somebody who can pass. And Toronto has such players in plenty.

Panarin was fantastic last season but regardless of value I truly believe the leafs don't consider deal like this and roll the dice with their own young players.

Lol, it's a big question, will Marner ever be as good as Panarin.

Lol it's a big question, will Panarin be able to repeat his season especially if he isn't playing with an art Ross winner.

So Leafs don't need players, who can score a lot and right now? Alright, my fault, sorry.

Of course they do but they don't at the cost of someone with a higher ceiling who is 5 years younger. A rebuilding team doesn't trade a beast like Marner for a Russian with 1 season under his belt

How it can be more appeal to Chicago, if Toronto gets a better player? Chicago would never trade Panarin for Marner, if it had more cap space.

Marner projects to be a very good prospect in his own right, a recent 4th overall pick who won all the MVPs last season, he's as bluechip as you can get without getting into Matthews/McDavid territory.

Better player for a season or so? Sure, after that you could have a better player in Marner. Chicago is win now though.

Plus if you're Chicago you always have to consider the cap.

Marner's value is in his contract status and potential.

Panarin is a great player but his value drops when he signs his new deal. Marner will be cost controlled longer and is very likely to be just as good.

It makes very little sense for the Leafs to do this one for one, and to give up a + just makes this even less plausible.

Panarin has had one excellent season which is one better then marner has had in the NHL. Both carry their own risks while being extremely talented players. There's a reason for Chicago to do this but I'm not really seeing the reason for Toronto. Neither team does this in the end the leafs will develop marner and Chicago will find the cap space to keep Panarin like they do every year.
