Oh heck yeah. I had tickets to the 2017 Frozen Four, but life got in the way and had to sell 'em. Absolutely clearing my schedule far in advance to go.

Knowing my luck, I'll be stuck with a Notre Dame/Michigan final.

Hope the Illini get off their asses and uses the increased interest to make some movement on their varsity team/arena "plans."

Denver versus Duluth was one of my favorite memories and years of hockey.

I can only bark so much that Chicago needs a d1 program.

Especially with Chicago growing as a prospect source, the fact that nobody has tried to launch a varsity hockey program in the state since UIC's was shuddered is absolutely baffling. A college team that draws mostly from Chicagoland kids could be a consistent competitor in the grand scheme of things.

And I get that it'd be crazy expensive, but hockey has become a money sport for a lot of NCAA programs, especially the Big Ten.

Granted, I know why the U of I hasn't jumped, because they're hoping for a single mega donor and aren't willing to put in the leg work for a dedicated capital project to hit up their boosters en masse.
