Ah...The days of "please connect..please connect..please connect.."

Oh, that just reminded me of the start of the millennium, when AOL was sending free internet access CDs; too bad the only things I still haven't lived down were porn spam and dial-up, while it's already 2015!

As for this matchup itself, it's another litmus test for the Kings if they have what it takes to carry themselves back up. I'm rooting for them, as always.

From the insider. Made me lol.

"The importance of tonight’s game against the Chicago Blackhawks was not lost on Drew Doughty, who reinforced the need “to make up some ground” after today’s morning skate.

“We kind of had a big meeting yesterday and we realized how many points, how many wins we need to get in order to secure a playoff spot and in order to hopefully secure a really high playoff spot, too. It’s going to be tough to do, but we’re prepared to do it.”

It was a notion reinforced when Alec Martinez was asked if he pays much attention to the standings.

“Have you ever been in our locker room?…There are standings everywhere,” he said."

I actually laughed out loud...

Please, just get your selves back into the playoffs guys. Not even thinking about home ice right now...

I said it about a month ago, and I'll say it again. It's disheartening to hear these guys talk straight to the top, and huge chunks of points, when they really need to concentrate one game at a time! I know it's old cliche, but there certainly is truth to it! They way they chat about it, it's almost like they feel the points are going to just fall in their lap. I don't get it.

The maddening thing about the Kings is we're not winning the games we should. How many points have we thrown away to bottom feeders and teams on long losing streaks this season? This is the difference right now being out of the playoffs..

Last time the Kings needed a regular season game this badly was on February 25, 2012. They'd lost 8 out of 10 going into that game and things looked bleak. They were so anemic, Dean had just pulled the trigger to get Jeff Carter out of Columbus and this was his first game with the Kings.

The Kings beat the Chicago Blackhawks that night 4-0 at Staples and the rest is history...and let's hope it repeats itself somehow.
