It’s not a big deal, but it’s kinda ridiculous how Weber was eligible for the HOF while still having an active contract. It’s a joke. Just seems a bit wonky.

HHOF only cares about when you stopped playing

Not if you stopped playing due to injury, but you have an active contract, and not in what League you last played in

It's why Pronger last played in 2011 but was inducted in 2015 despite his contract running to 2017.
It's why Datsyuk retired (from the NHL) in 2016, but kept playing in the KHL until 2021 so could only be inducted in 2024.
