If you think that Donato @50% significantly impacts a Murphy deal I strongly disagree. And in bad drafts there are a number of good mid to late picks that turn into good NHLers. 80% of those picks bomb, so not sure why people are so salty about the bad draft year except they want another reason to rake KD over the coals.

Not saying it was a great deal, but ignoring the positives which include opening a roster spot for a young player, avoiding injury risk for Hall, and an early 3rd rounds that could turn into another Lardis, Spellacy or Pridham (aka-prospect we are excited about).

I don't know of one person who is pissed that Hall got traded, or surprised it took a retention spot. If we ended up with the 61st pick instead of the 66th pick does it matter enough to bitch like many here are?
 
Murphy and Jones are not competitive hockey players. So it’s pretty disheartening to hear they’re in the plans moving forward.

And the whole free agency thing. I mean the Hawks are going to end up with more mediocre forwards because I can’t envision the big guys signing here.

The difference between a 1st in a strong draft vs weak draft is far greater than the difference between a 3rd in a strong draft vs weak draft.

A 3rd is a 3rd - no need to over exaggerate it.

People are more likely to give negative reviews than positive, thats a well known fact! You cant seriously think that the negative post are true indication what most Hawks fans feel!
