Would be insane overpay if true4 for Byram + 20?
But current 1 yr left+ 7 yr extension could effectively be 8x10 =80 or 6.25+ 7 for 73.75MCan’t sign the extension until July 1
Sabres did not like playing kesselring. Did not fit in. Was was not seen as someone that could fill the Byram hole if traded. Why trade off both Kesselring and Byram?
You can, but neither party would be obligated to honor that handshake agreement. You can have a handshake agreement in place with the contract being formally announced on July 1, I believe.
Doesn’t change the fact that Byram hasn’t shown anything to suggest he’s gonna be worth 12.5M and be paid as a top 10D for those years…It makes perfect sense for the extension to be that high. Unlike almost every UFA extension signed, Byram's deal would cover all prime years, only ages 26-32.
lucasWho is this?
that... doesnt make this look any betterIts the new market and new NHL with the cap rising. Get used to it.
12.5m this year is the equivilent of 9.8m in 2022
if u made that deal and reneged on it, no player would want to do business with you ever again though. You can, but neither party would be obligated to honor that handshake agreement.
He beats out Karlsson by $1 million if this is the case. Dahlin makes $11 million for comparison and he's only in year 2 of 8.
Granted Makar and Hughes likely crush this but dear lord.
Seth Jones 2.0?Maybe if Byram comes with a long-term extension for 8 years?
Byram wanted too much money, Kesselring didn't fit the systemWhy trade off both Kesselring and Byram?
time for more rebuild /jkWhy trade off both Kesselring and Byram?
