On a non-Hornets note, it appears that the Nets are done with the James Harden experiment. Signs point to the 76ers will trade for him. What a shocker that the Durant-Irving-Harden trio didn't pan out.

I am delighted to have been right about that.

Now I want him to go to Philly and be amazing.

You were correct. Less than 20 games together lol.

Feel bad for Nash though, he probably doesn't last much longer here but what can you do when you have 3 unlikable ballhogs with baggage attached to them?

I saw the Bouk-Borrego spat as well. Would like to hear more details. When teams are losing, these kind of "heat of the moment" things can occur between player and coach. However, given Borrego's dumbfounding decision-making and the lack of heart I see with this ever-sinking team, I wonder if coach has lost the locker room. I can picture Borrego saying about that ass-whipping they got in the 3rd quarter (outscored 35-8)"Well we need to go back and look at the film". Nobody cares anymore that he came from the Popovich system! Mitch has some decisions to make pronto!

Wtf Hornets? 8 points in the 3rd quarter? Even after leading at halftime? You don't have to revert back to the Bobcats you know.
Thats a doozy isnt it? From up 5 to down 22 in 12 minutes. Again, there is a coaching element to have your guys ready after the intermission. We get on Rod's case when we have a semi-bad frame of play. A swing like the Hornets experienced is numbing.

I've said this before, I like Borrego as a person. As a coach? He's had to go through Kemba and a lame-duck year afterwards but now expectations are higher. Franchise hasn't seen the playoffs since 2016, that's not good in a typically weak Eastern Conference.

But but Spurs protege Popovich understudy

The worst part is Jordan is going to hire someone just as bad if not worse if history is any indication

Charles Oakley come on down!

About time for me to not bother watching this team. 35-8 in the 3rd quarter, how is that even possible. These guys are supposed to be professionals. There are some things to be excited about going forward but right now the team is still a total mess.

Not really a big NBA fan, but am a fan of the Sixers. Embiid is stupidly good and desperately needs another alpha around him to give him a 1-2 offensive punch. Harden-Embiid has potential to be a dominant duo in the East for as long as they are together.

Except... Ben Simmonds on Brooklyn could be a perfect fit as well. An elite defensive specialist with elite passing ability paired with Irving and Durant? They could legitimately win a title as early as this season with that trio, its a perfect fit. (except for the fact that Irving can't play home games and there's a chance he could be barred from some away venues in the playoffs as well)

Great trade considering we gave up basically nothing. Glad we didn’t trade PJ for an underwhelming return.
Absolutely. I never was a fan of Ish being on the court with Melo. Thye didnt compliment each other, but Ish is still a decent player. He heads back to Washington.

Harrell has some length and size. While he isnt a defensive stud, he will help in the paint where the Hornets are absolutely getting abused. Plumlee just isnt it. We'll see how this pans out. Hornets are bleeding right now and they need something. He has the Louisville connection with Bridges.

Harden definitely deserves a lot of heat for how things ended in Houston and Brooklyn, but lets not pretend that the Nets are solving their locker room issues by bringing in Simmons. Remember, this guy sat out half a season and cut off all communication with his employer because he got his nose bent out of shape over the criticism of this:

The man doesn't care to develop a jump shot. He's scared to shoot, is a disaster at the free throw line (Hack-a-Ben is a legitimate winning defensive strategy when he's on the court) and melted down to the point of passing up wide open dunks down 2 late in an elimination game of the playoffs. He might be the most mentally soft player in any of the major sports right now (save maybe Antonio Brown, who is probably still dealing with concussion problems from the Burfict hit), and if he thought criticism was bad in Philly, just wait til the fans in Brooklyn get frustrated.

Sixers are the Oilers of the NBA. Completely jacked up rebuilding and then just trade everything away in hopes it all works in the end. Hilarious

Bzzt, wrong. The NBA is not the NHL. Two stars and a bunch of role players can win you a title, and unlike the hapless Oilers, the Sixers are right on the doorstep. They may not win, but they're one of the favorites after this trade; the Oilers may not even make the playoffs.
