Could possibly lead to a rekindling of the Charlotte/Carolina relationship now that Kahn is no longer the majority owner.

The story says that Charlotte will continue to affiliate with Florida. Since the Panthers just won the Stanley Cup, that sounds like a good idea.

Well, yeah but affiliation agreements expire. Kahn said this one lasts 5-6 more years. Hurricanes/Wolves agreement is 2 more years. It's possible that the Hurricanes/Checkers partnership comes back, but it won't be for several years. I hope it does, honestly.

doubtful, you'd see Carolina back in Charlotte, even with Kahn not being the principal owner/operator of the Checkers, now... how much did Zawyer buy if Kahn is still a minority owner. Chicago or Rosemont, hasn't exactly been a model organization if the AHL BOG indirectly asserting their power over the Independent bylaw

I don't see the Canes and Checkers partnering up again, at least not anytime soon. It was not a good breakup. The current relationship between the Panthers and Checkers has honestly been really good for both teams. It makes sense now that Zawyer bought the Checkers after already owning our new ECHL affiliate in Savannah.
