The story says that Charlotte will continue to affiliate with Florida. Since the Panthers just won the Stanley Cup, that sounds like a good idea.Could possibly lead to a rekindling of the Charlotte/Carolina relationship now that Kahn is no longer the majority owner.

doubtful, you'd see Carolina back in Charlotte, even with Kahn not being the principal owner/operator of the Checkers, now... how much did Zawyer buy if Kahn is still a minority owner. Chicago or Rosemont, hasn't exactly been a model organization if the AHL BOG indirectly asserting their power over the Independent bylawWell, yeah but affiliation agreements expire. Kahn said this one lasts 5-6 more years. Hurricanes/Wolves agreement is 2 more years. It's possible that the Hurricanes/Checkers partnership comes back, but it won't be for several years. I hope it does, honestly.
