If he scores points in the NHL, it's a narrow list with some pretty good names on it. If he doesn't, Zenon Kenopka is on the same list. That's why people worry about his production.
I'm really happy with what he's done this year from a production standpoint, and it seems most people are. The hesitance to add him to the top of couple tiers of the prospect pool isn't due to his lack of production this year, it's due to his lack of production last year.
He's a big kid with some really interesting tools to his game, but though he's young for his junior year, he is still a junior. He's doing what I would expect of someone drafted in the 2nd round or later. I think that's worth ranking him around Heidt, and personally I'm putting him just ahead of Heidt. I'm not hating him, I'm just not putting him at the level of guys who I think are almost certain to be NHLers.
For transparency (and this list changes semi-frequently for me):
Yurov
Buium
Ohgren
Jiricek
Wallstedt (at risk of dropping a tier)
Stramel
Heidt (might be higher if he played better competition, I'm sort of in a holding pattern on this guy)
Some other groups of kids in some order.
If that's being a hater, or obsessed with his production, then I guess I am. Whatever. Doesn't feel like hate in my heart, but ok.
