If any of the coaches or management tell him to change anything about his game this tournament to go back to what we were seeing pre injury they should be shown the door immediately. The Mcavoy of this tournament and Pasta are real star pieces you should be able to build a championship roster around if you have any combination of luck and competence in your management team.

Last night was the best McAvoy has played in a long while. It was great to see. Having all that talent around him helps to elevate his game. I just hope that this experience he is gaining in this tournament translates into greater confidence when playing against lesser talent when the season starts up again. Boston needs this version of McAvoy.

I havent been a Lindholm/McAvoy super pairing guy, but man he has looked GREAT not having a partner he has to worry about in some fashion like with 40 year old Chara, Gryz or Zadorov.

Not sure how the Bruins pair them without making a change at 2RD tho.

Charlie is grossly underrated in Boston due to his lack of offense. He's the best in the NHL laying guys out without sacrificing his defense.

Like Pasta up front get better players around him. He's played with everybody in the building this season.

Also don't forget his injuries, from what ? being a monster physically. His short pass game in tight is amazing.

Canada ,if they make the finals with make getting Charlie the mission

I have been a Lindholm-Mac super pairing guy for a while now, and last night cemented that in my mind. Go the Colorado route and stack your top pair while playing them both like 24+ min a night. Then ideally one of Zadorov or Lohrei eventually finds chemistry with Carlo after getting some real minutes with him.

Yes.

Like a lot of physical players his physicality increases as the games get more physical.

2RD has torpedoed our season and the GM is asleep at the wheel. Carlo sucks so much ass. I love Canada in general and hockey but I want Finland to eliminate them so badly so that pathetic fraud Sweeney is exposed.

Chiarelli Team Canadas never lost a game if IIRC he got that gig too and handed the Bruins off to totally loaded.

I mean it's hockey and Canada. If they can't go from 4 to 2 and he's in charge is that ok?

I don't want to get into politics or even youth participation here where I live in Boston it takes 5 high schools to field 1 team where it was 1-1.

But somehow in Canada it's worse no one plays anymore and in 5 years there will be more Americans than Canadians.

McAvoy threw 89 hits last season, then threw 53 hits in 13 playoff games.

I think folks are confusing regression with maturation. When young guys come into the league they want to show everything they can do on every shift. If they can hit, they hit everything, if they can fight they do that a lot... They're trying to give the coaches a reason to keep them in the league.

As they get older, they realize they can't play every game like that (not if they want to play past 25) and their job is secure, so they ratchet it back, save it for the big games and the playoffs.

McAvoy is absolutely NOT going to play like this on February 22nd against Anaheim. Neither is Marchand or Tkachuk or McDavid. It feels like Connor McDavid took the whole first half off. He was 10th in scoring at one point.

This is just how it goes. Guys dial it back, but you still want them on your team, they can still elevate.

I mean Carlo has been an excellent D for almost a decade now… but always as the second guy on the pairing with Chara, Krug or Lindholm. He is a role player not playing in his role and he has suffered greatly.

There are around 85 club hockey teams in MA for 2015s. That’s mostly 9 year olds. That doesn’t count all of the town programs.
