That's what I got too.Nothing to see here; move along?
ETA: Never mind. I googled it and found Chaz Reddekopp signed to a 3-year entry-level contract. So 2 7th-rounders from 2015 got ELCs. Not bad.

Long time lurker here and came to post this question.
Do you think the Kings are taking their time with announcing new Head Coach that it might be Mike Stothers and they are waiting for the Reign to be done with the playoffs? I feel Stevens is still to similar to Sutter.
Why would Greene retire and leave $2.5 million on the table to become an assistant where he will make a couple hundred k. I assume he'd take a year off get paid on LTIR and then decide what he wants to do, but I assume he'd start out coaching in Ontario if he had coaching aspirations.
Lucic was looking for the most money. He did LA a favor by letting them match EDM offer, but he was going to whoever offered the most and the Kings just couldn't even come close.

Director of Team Operations.
They need to make sure they keep Ranford. They're not going to get a better goalie coach.
I want Stothers as the next HC for no other then if it's just because he's the best interview in hockey.
From today's morning skate:
?? I don't understand all the Ranford love. What's so special? - Quick has several areas of his game that need improvement
- he's never met a high shot that he won't drop to his knees and watch the puck fly over his shoulder into the net (see last game vs ducks)
- he shows very limited hockey smarts on realizing what the opposing player is likely to do with the puck
- he seems so surprised when the shooter goes for a wraparound (see over-committing blurb below)
- he's on his knees w/ paddle down whenever the puck is on the goal line, but it's way over at the boards, with the shooter having no angle to shoot at. (leaving the top wide open of course and the space behind his knees) - STAND UP! The shooter cannot score if you're standing at the post, and you can also go to the other post much faster
- he over-commits to one side or the other
- he does the splits waaaay too much - i.e. he ain't getting any younger. He will have more frequent groin injuries by flopping around as much as he does.
- he has no idea how or when to pokecheck
- he still has no idea how to play the puck behind the net.
- since the offense can't score, he tries to do too much. He knows that if he gives up 2 goals, the game is quite likely over - not his fault of course, but it affects how he plays with or without a lead.
Ranford is doing a great job?? Really? how hard is it to study your GA, and try to learn from your (and opposing teams) play?
Despite my observations, Quick is still the best goalie LA has ever had... but by a few simple adjustments he can be even better - with any goalie coach.
Quick
Bernier
Jones
Berube
You severely underestimate Ranford's role in developing these goalies.
And your analysis is rather specious, but I don't have time to address it all right now
Ill add Campbell since i think he might be our Back up next season.... and should improve tremendously under Ranford if he's still here... also i assume you meant Budaj and not Berube???
I always wonder about the why in situations like this. Was the team operations not up to par? Is it to get a buddy into that position?

I think the best they could do was 5 mil over 4/5 years and a 4.75 deal over 10 years, or something like that. Everyone knew Lucic wanted 6 mil as a starting point and a long term deal, which eventually got.
