When assembling the team, Canada didn't even ice all their best players. They left a lot of talent off the team in lew of 3rd and 4th liners like Cirelli, Hagel, etc.

Those guys aren’t 3rd and 4th liners lol

Werenski, Slavin, B.Tkachuk, Guentzel, Matthews, Larkin stood out in a positive way for USA. Jack Hughes had a rough go, looked overmatched tonight and had a quiet tournament. I get that M. Tkachuk was banged up but he was underwhelming even prior, at least against Canada.

Canada never seemed to find their chemistry but the star players were still noticeable and dangerous for the most part. Crosby was on & off. Marchand was underwhelming. Bennett proved to be a great addition to the team. I liked most of the D especially considering the injuries. Parayko was solid, Doughty played his ass off, Toews & Morrissey impressed me all tournament. Makar showed glimpses of his true self tonight.

Two of the best rosters ever assembled battled it out to a thrilling OT, what more can you want?

Really fun tournament to watch. I was apprehensive about the whole thing but it was pretty awesome.

Hopefully they fine tune it and maybe do it every couple of years between the Olympics.

He isn't locked into being the starter but I feel like tonight books him a trip to Italy for sure. Olympics is a longer tournament so can throw multiple guys out and see who takes it.

This tournament was far more captivating then I imagined it would be, hopefully it serves to turn some of the rah rah America crowd into actual hockey fans.

I was just explaining to you the difference between the nations in regards to hockey. I think this generation of American hockey is as good as it’s ever been that was a very good group of hockey players top to bottom and they played some inspired hockey.

Glad you can be chill. Canada definitely still has the highest end talent, no doubt. Injured players on both sides, already said congrats to Canada but some of these posters too hard to not interact, hilarious. The Olympics will be fun hope Russia can compete.

Never in doubt. US has a really great team now but at the end of the day, your elite players get it done and Canada still has the best top-end talent in the world.

US has a great team but they don't produce McDavid or MacKinnon level talents ever.

Matthews had the game on his stick twice but can't come up big, then leaves McDavid all alone on the winner.

Very true, the ranking can be anyway but Canada is always on top because Canada produces players like McDavid and MacKinnon.

Canada won DESPITE Binnington. He almost cost them the finals with his bad goals against Finland, Sweden, and USA in the first game of the tournament.

There's much better goalies than him. He got his chance. 1 decent game and 3 bad games isn't Olympic starter material.
