Regardless of result, Canada needs to make a directional change next year. More speed and skill, less "gud ol' boys" and reputation picks. Marchand looks done. Stone looks incredibly slow. Allowing personal vendetta and ego to get in the way of picking the best goaltenders available. Unbelievable.

For that to happen, they need a GM that isn't an NHL GM. No one wants a repeat of the St. Louis incident

this game really reaffirms that it’s a young man’s game. Doughty, Marchand, stone and Crosby are liabilities against this American team. Crosby is elite except for speed, his time and space just isn’t there at 37 against the speed of USA

I think it's more like, the modern NHL is played with speed and high talent. Not a bunch of dump and chase, two-way types that have traditionally defined Canadian hockey.
