As I said before, your not replacing Hanifin (this season). Bahl or Miromanov could both be better than Tanev.

It's funny though, when the aging FA contracts were coming everyone said Hanifin, Lindholm, Tanev etc. Couldn't get it done in the playoffs. Now that they've been traded for assets and younger players they and suddenly inreplacable and the Flames are a bottom 3 team in the league.
I'd still give him a statue if that happend haha

Not as much last season but over the previous 3 Tanev was hands down the best defensive d-man in the league statistically. To suggest either of those 2 could be better than Tanev is a pretty hot take.

Also there is a huge difference between getting it done in the playoffs and preventing your team from being bad. Calgary's post Hanifin trade (since he was the last one moved) record was 8-13-0, that's a 62 point pace. You are also not factoring in that Markstrom was traded this offseason and he was top 5 in GSAx last year.
