The one problem for the Flames is next season. We might need to rely on being able to plug a young guy in at 3LD, which is Valimaki.

If you could get Ty Smith for Tippett I'm sure the Panthers should do that. Could they also get Draisaitl for Hornqvist?

If you're talking Ty Smith then you're giving up Lundell, not Tippett. Valimaki is a better prospect than Addison. Most real NHL teams realize you need guys who can defend at least a little bit.

I don't know. Smith has been really bad this year. On the other hand, he is only 21, so he has still time to develop. But I would be ready to trade him for Tippett, because the Devils have other LHD's in the system who can take his place in the lineup.

Naaah, Tippet isn't that good. Smith is a young defenseman, they take time to develop. Would prefer to be patient with him, we've got enough forward depth at the moment.

Well if you'd trade Smith for Tippett that's a bit crazy. I haven't watched him much this season, but he was really good last year for a D +2 defenseman. If things pan out with Tippett you have a middle six forward. If things work out with Smith you have a #2/3 defenseman. I know which of those 2 things I'd rather have.
