They really badly need a new facility. Sightlines are great but everything else about McMahon is embarrassing now. Unfortunately I don't see the Flames dipping into their pocketbooks and ponying up for a new building with the arena ongoing, but who knows.
The Flames / Stamps owner has a reputation for throwing around nickels like manhole covers. Any improvements will have to come on the cheap, unless they can interest the City into taking a major financial position.

Murray Edwards isn't going to ante up big bucks to build a new stadium in Calgary and with Hufnagel essentially exiting the Stamps are not a preferable location to the Elkimos.

Edmonton
Those were the days...back when this 9 team League had two teams with the same team name.
It was just so CFL. LOL
Didn’t the ownership of the San Antonio Texans want to call that team Riders too because that was the name used in that community for a previous football team? League said no, lol. We could have had 3 of them at the same time.

Surprising how long it has been since certain matchups have occurred in such a small league. Although Toronto-BC did play in 2004, that's an error on the chart. Hoping that Ottawa can pull off a couple up upsets and give us a fresh matchup, but they've really hit the skids in the back half of the year. We're probably all getting tired of seeing Winnipeg in the game, but I doubt they lose at home to either Sask or BC. Bombers-Ottawa for the first time in nearly a century would be neat to see though.

That's a lot for a team that missed the playoffs

Should we... (Killiam, not Monson)
Absolutely no surprise on Anderson and Julien...both were outstanding from start to finish.

Lewis had a great second half of the season after a slow start but as I have been saying he is still one of the best receivers in the league. I'm guessing though that he shall not return to the EE.

Brown also had a consistently good year at that defensive end spot and I hope he returns next season. The D-line needs to be better next year.

Purifoy really bounced back after a tough season in 2023.

And who would have thought that the EE would have 2 all stars on the O-line? They were much improved in the latter part of the season.

This team is young and has lots of talent. We'll see how many return in the resurgence.

The Elkimos are on the rise again...book it.

Pretty Please to them announcing Fleming as new Pres tomorrow. 🤞
I will be the one person in this thread that violently disagrees with you.

But that’s only because I’d love to see him named CFL Commissioner with RA finally GTFO of the chair.

But if the Esks role is the option to getting him back in the league, then I guess I can live with that. Sean Fleming makes the league better. 👍

Stepping into this President's role would be an ugly job.

Come on in! Now fix all of the following:

- Completely disinterested and dwindling fanbase
- Pissed off season seat holders that face large price increases this year
- Poor game day presentation and product
- A team name and brand that is divisive (imagine that) that a large portion, if not a majority of the fanbase despises
- Fan demographic that currently doesn't lend itself well to long term sustainability
- Potentially changing back the team name and brand, opening up the can of worms with the mob again and being the face of it
- A football ops department in shambles
- A team that can't find a way to be competitive
- The one player that the fans like and identify with is probably gone because of how he's been dicked around
- An organization that is a financial mess
- Functioning and succeeding in a basket case of a league
- Stiff competition from other popular discount summer sports franchises that didn't exist before (Riverhawks, Stingers) and are becoming more popular than the Elks with the general public
- Probably an owner that isn't interested in losing his shirt to accomplish all of the above

I probably missed another half dozen things. You need someone with a LOT of passion for the organization to take the chair for a job that frankly would absolutely suck to do.

But these are all things that good management can address. It probably takes at least 5 years to undo some of the damage.

This doesn't mean that Fleming would be a good President but the quality of management to this point has been dismal (at least in the last decade).

The only real alternative is to let the team fold and with it--the league.

Not a good sign when Harris and Bo are the all star QB’s.
That's just plain sad. Not a good reflection on the league when a couple has-beens are voted the best.

I agree they should be better next year, but they're going nowhere without a QB.

I would have time for Kilam if we can snag him to coach our special teams. I think he's one of the best and has the track record to prove it. Of course, if he came here though, he'd likely forget or change everything he's done before and produce putrid results, as is the Elkimos way.
