Wonder when Morris mentioned turnover, etc, made RL squirm a bit, since he's been part of the problem for a number of years during the darkness and bad hires. Hopefully when he goes on his travels he finds a nice place somewhere to settle down and stays there.
I'm glad they are going to consider other candidates for the GM and coaching positions other than Simon and JJ and his group.
Sure hope this works out.
If they went back to "Eskimos" or simply dumped "Elks" for Esks/Eskies/Empire/EE/Whatever, the tone and authority that he had in his opening press conference is the exact same tact he'll have to take publicly with the change. He might be the perfect guy to be the face of it if the organization went that way.
"We're changing the name to X, it's what we want, it's what our fans want, and that's what we're going to do. It isn't racist, it's never been racist, and we'll have to simply agree to disagree with those that have convinced themselves it is. Not interested in debating it, if you don't like it then you'll have to live with it."
A soft approach that considers room for debate is one that will never win, because the mob can simply go with "they're racist" the moment they don't get what they want.
