Simple in concept, not design. Same as the Kings original logo. That is noisy all over the place, but the concept is simple and straightforward.

No city name, no initials, no extra-crap all over the place. Just a straight-forward logo. You don't have to tell viewers where you are from. This isn't the 1930s and 1940s, where there was no television and spectators coming to the baseball parks didn't necessarily know who the opponent was that day.

You might have to with the Kings considering how often local media gets it wrong.

No, when they go back to something I like, you can get used to it.

No need, I already have...and I LOVE it. Thanks.

Actually, it's more about the color scheme for me....I'd be happy with the crown there too....makes no difference.

Just tired of all the whining about the current logo...

I would have never bought an older logo jersey, but I certainly didn't whine about it. This is the logo that our Kings have won the cup with....and I'm betting they've sold better than any other jersey in our history, so you might has well get used to it, folks.

Not hard when they don't actually sell the third...

Better station an umpire at the red line to judge whether Brown is safe or out when he inevitably falls down at center ice.

Terrible.

What color scheme? Black, white and grey is not a color scheme. It is a test pattern for a 50s tv

I totally agree. It works for Tuxedo's,Penguins,Orca's, and Panda's but, boring for a hockey team. I'm not concerned though. After they feel they've made enough money from this designed merchandise, they'll change it again.:yo:

Technically, its black, white, and aluminum. See the link below.

Does that mean that the Kings jerseys can be recycled?

On the plus side, won't we see our "forum blue" uniforms more often this year? Aren't they our official third jersey now or did I dream that?

That is what was said. Too bad thanks to Rbk we won't be able to buy authentic ones. But I guess they could make a limited number avail at Team LA. That's my hope.

You guys got it all figured out, how come none of you work for the KINGS marketing dept.?

When Luc asked me my opinion I told him to go back to forum blue. Since he is the head of marketing he won. I own a color tv. With most teams using black for home, the only color I see is the red line.

Why is that thanks to Reebok? I guarantee you that if the Kings wanted them to produce the thirds for sale, they would.

Reminds me of a story I heard about the Rams.

When they first developed team colors in Los Angeles, they were listed as royal blue, gold, and white. This lasted many years with the exception of 1949 (see reference below), but with a break from 1964 to 1972, in which the only colors were royal blue and white.

I read somewhere that the reason for the change in 1964 was with the advent of the NFL on TV, and most screens were black and white in those days. The Rams switched to a two-color scheme to make the team appear more appealing on black-and-white TV.

With the advent of color televisions becoming popular, they went back to royal blue and gold as the primary colors with a little white thrown in.

I know towards the end of the purple and black jerseys the team was trying to make the purple stand out better on tv. They played a few games with some players wearing one color and others wearing a slightly different color. HDTVs were becoming the norm and they were trying to make the jerseys look less black. I think it was in Feb 2009 Red Wings game that Doughty wore the first one, but i am old and my mind forgets things

Not sure which way you wanted them flipped, so I tried every combo of black/white/silver:

hmmm, not a bad exercise to see how other "colors" look with the logo.

My favorite would be the bottom middle, the black text on the gray background - it looks the most like the chevy logo, which begs the obvious question: "why not just use the chevy logo?" It's a hell of a lot better than the black background "LA tiny crown" logo.

Good job.

But they suck no matter what color you do. It's the team's penchant to put L.A. or Los Angeles on their jerseys. They need to get away from that and be more traditional, like the original 6 are, and simply put the crown on the jersey.

But we need a new crown...or make it smaller on the jersey then last time. The current one was just too obnoxious in its size. Needs to be smaller, and less obtrusive. Maybe more abstract...

Actually, I was thinking more in terms of Detroit and Chicago, where the logos are simple and denote their nicknames. No city/geographical name is necessary. Our original sweaters were like that too, but we really can't go back to that, because those crowns are really outdated. The substitute crowns (still on the logo) were not the answer either. I can't even say they were a marked improvement. That's why I think a more abstract crown would work.

In any event, it appears you are ready for the season to begin. Your narcissistic cynicism looks to be in high gear.

As for the crown logo, I agree. Both our vintage crown logo and our more recent crown logo look outdated and not well designed. At least the 60's one looks like a crown, while the 90's crown just looks like a combination of weird shapes sort of resembling a crown. When it comes down to it, it's actually a poorly designed 90's logo and it's showing it's age. I agree I'd like to see a more iconic and well designed crown as our main logo. Something that looks timeless so we're not changing logos every 10 years. Would be an interesting experiment to get a bunch of graphic designers to re-imagine an LA Kings logo. I have a feeling it's not easy. Just doing a google image search for crown logos, most of them are pretty bad.

I remember when King fans complained about the product on the ice, not in the ice. That's when you know we have it good.

Because this is what Ice Jersey's has been told.

Thank you for contacting IceJerseys.com.

We are sorry to inform you that presently this is all that is offered by Reebok...
We have also been told there will be a short list of teams available next fall as well and only in the
home team. We as a retailer find this very frustrating as there is great demand for authentic edge 2.0 jerseys
(made in Canada), but Reebok does not want to carry the inventory...

Please let us know if you have any additional questions.

Now they might tell the team and do something different for them.
