Damn a 41 save shutout isn't messing around. Doesn't hurt that Texas went back to a lineup more resembling what they've used most of the year with a few additions. And of course Peterssen is a massive upgrade on Damiani. Back is also kind of the glue of the team even if he's frustrating offensively.

Surprised they won after getting spanked twice to end the regular season. Well done.

Team was completely locked into playing the Moose with home ice advantage. Played some wierdo lineups those last two regular season games.

AHL playoffs are so confusing. Apparently Texas would've had home ice for all 3 games against the Moose. Last night the game was played in Texas but the Moose got the "advantage" of last change so they were technically the home team. So weird

Assuming this is because of travel costs .

I dont remember it being like that is the past, maybe AHL teams are losing too much money.

Would assume this mostly is for the independely run teams that just have an affiliate agreement with one of the NHL teams . Doubt Texas or Marlies care .

Not to mention with the changed playoff format the very first round is kind of like a BO3 play-in. Traveling across the continent for 1 home game for the lower seed that is not something most AHL teams want to do.

By the way, Mavrik Bourque has not been reassigned to Texas yet I don't believe. Interested to see if he will play tonight

Happy Bourque is at least getting some time around the big club during the playoffs, can only help having that experience and being around the veterans. He has nothing else to prove in the AHL so excited to see where he fits in next year.

Blumel turnover leads to an Admirals breakaway goal. 1-0.

Bourque had a breakaway of his own early in the period but was stopped
