If Stank and Mav get called up only during the playoffs (and play games), does it have an effect on their contracts?
Only playoffs? No.

Excuse me, this is a BigG post. Please respect his space.Just to expand on that point, it doesn't matter where they play the rest of the season or playoffs. Both are burning a year of their ELC this season. The ELC slide only applies for players still in major juniors.
ELC and RFA time. Every game they spend in the AHL is wasted time on the UFA countdown clock.Just to expand on that point, it doesn't matter where they play the rest of the season or playoffs. It's honestly unbelievable that we've been this healthy for so long, especially given the age of our many of our forwards.
I, for one, am very surprised Hintz has been so healthy the last two seasons. I still have my doubts it will continue much longer, but it's definitely been a pleasant surprise after his previous seasons of regular IR time.

If there is any indication as they continue to dominate the AHL that either of those two are better than anyone in the top 9, then that should be the only consideration for bringing them up. Their development would obviously be accelerated by playing in the NHL as soon as possible, and that should outweigh any loyalty to any experienced players that aren't performing for any reason. Eschewing the former for the latter is bad roster management imo. It'll take someone getting LTIR'd for either of them to come up ala Kucherov, yeah.
We hope that doesn't happen. There will be space next year, let him go crush the AHL and learn how the grind at the professional level.
Barring players being disgruntled, I don't see movement in the top 9 to make room for Borkoven.
