So the big adjustment was to chip it in with everybody standing flatfooted? 3 forwards should be going full speed and hitting the blueline just as the puck crosses, not this nonsense.

In the first period, it was one of the Caps d-men crossing the line at speed and trying to retrieve the puck. Seemed to be working, too.

I don’t feel like he’s adjusted to the pace of the league and is rushing things. This is THE hardest environment to play in as a pro.

In hindsight looks like a pretty big mistake to not pickup some more depth at the deadline. But they’re making a commitment to the kid also in some ways right now.
