It's a role as old as hockey, Olivier obviously knows that. He's definitely matured in that role though and not looking for it every single game like he was a couple years ago
No, my point is it’s an element people need to acknowledge. Down 3-0, he’s out there asking some monster to fight.
Just Because.
I guess now is a perfect time to comment, I’ve wanted to in multiple threads. I believe it was against Minn/Greenway, I Shelley said Fantilli was talking shit (they were playing him hard) and JG was trying to “punk” him out, and Shelley said Olivier told him to keep “talking”/running his mouth.
To get to my point that’s related to what you said about Olivier “maturing” and a past comment somebody made (possibly you) referencing Gudbranson. I made a comment before the year comparing Gudbranson and Olivier, and looking at them negatively by being more “professional” about there on ice antics. I think it still stands currently with Gudbranson, and his injuries and age might be a bigger factor than we know, but, at times I’d like him to be more of an “enforcer” out there.
With Olivier, I take it back, however, as today is an example, I could go for a Dorsett/Boll/Wilson run at somebody. And I still contest that Malatesta deserves a shot at NHL time.
