Washington gets the puck and heads the other way on yet another odd man rush and multiple players straight up stop skating. Doubt next practice is going to be enjoyable for the boys

A true top pairing defenseman to play with Werenski, and another good goal scorer, are other issues.

I’d play JVR over both Kuraly and Labanc.

We are having an issue filling the “top 6”. Voronkov just needs to get his legs conditioned. Sillinger (and Pyyhtia) aint it.
I agree with all of this. I think between the Russians and Monahan, Fantilli, and Johnson you have a decent top 6. I don't think Sillinger or Pyythia add much to top scoring lines. Neither are particularly bums but they are both playing too high up for their level. Johnson and Jenner are both solid goal scorers and they are sorely missed.

Would also like to add that I appreciate Sillinger's effort night to night. I just think he's still underskilled for the game he plays.

As for the defensemen I was more excited about Provorov earlier in the season. I think he's good as a 4th/5th D but I'm not sure what the ceiling of a D group would be if he is the 3rd best in the lineup. Mateychuk watch is testing my patience.

The good news is that PLD has been completely invisible today and has 5 points in 10 games.

How LA didn't have to retain money on this stiff is miraculous.

What I expected is gradually becoming a reality. But I'd better wait until the end of the game so as not to jump to conclusions.
I just feel sorry for Tarasov, so to hang him out to dry...

Yes. Johnson/Jenner out is unbelievably huge. Literally the 2 types of players we are missing. Voronkov also. He’s like a much better/younger JVR.

100% on Sillinger. It was a bad pick for how high he was drafted. He’s not a bad hockey player. But, he’s Kuraly’s replacement. Not some 2nd line center or top line winger.
Granted, I actually think he’s better as a winger, as is probably Fantilli.

I’m done with the development phase. At what point does Mateychuk’s development get talked about? That Sillinger has played all this time, and now Jiricek is here, and no Mateychuk, AFTER his preseason, is borderline unbelievable.

Marchenko and Chinakhov do not have too good chemistry. Yes, this line played good but I think the reason is Monahan's play and some opponents were not ready. Do not forget on d-men. But I like the Voronkov - Fantilli - Chinakhov line today.

I know Washington took their foot off the gas, but outside of the first 10 minutes, we’re tied 2-2

Doesn’t mean anything but I’m glad they didn’t quit. Hopefully have a good west coast trip

This is two and a half hours that I have wasted

Now 2-2 by your math
Also our record is undefeated if you don’t count the losses

Let’s hope the Cavs play a good game

Not too surprising of an outcome. Fourth game in six days. Back to back with less than 24 hours between games and had to travel.

We’ve had the benefit of being the rested team few times this season. Our turn to be at a disadvantage.

Same again, under pressure or if the opponent holds the puck well some supposed stars (and I don't mean Werenski, Fantilli or Chinakhov) don't play perfectly. But true, too many games, so if it is right we see later.

Next, there is no player with a shot today.

I liked Jiříček, he played well. Of course, I compare his play today and in the past.

It's hard to blame Tarasov, maybe the Shesterkin had only 5, but Igor is a different league altogether.

And so, from the second period they tried, but alas.
