Very proficient AHL scorer likely now too old to properly be called a prospect [25 and heading into his sixth pro hockey season] that's had some limited NHL opportunities with Columbus that haven't materialized. If nothing pops up this year for him he may look to something like the KHL where he can likely earn some good money over there.

Consistent offense. He can provide that at the AHL level, but not at the NHL level. He is ill suited for a bottom six role.
I have a friend who played a ton of AHL time. Made it pretty far in one NHL camp.

He said the difference between AHL and NHL is bigger than any gap he’s ever seen. All time to make decisions, like up shots, make your passes is so drastically reduced that even that half extra second to get off your shot makes the world of difference.

It’s the 0.01% of the 1% that make it

TJ Tynan is a perfect example. Has been a star at the AHL level for several years, but unable to crack the NHL.
