This is probably the answer. I’d be reluctant to trade LDBB (a legit center who is developing well) or Elick or Marrelli for a reclamation wing project. Maybe sell high on Pinelli but he might be part a decent of a package offer to help the D or goal tending.

I'd do either Elick or Marelli for Quinn, if they want them. Definitely not LDBB, who is worth too much. Pinelli I don't think is worth much, I think the Sabres might actually be insulted if you suggest him for Quinn.

I’ll take Bjorkstrand back, but I am not offering much. Maybe Brindley. On the pregame last night they were talking about how much better the locker room is now. I don’t want to make a backwards move. I’m not saying OB was the issue, but he didn’t seem to be a solution either. He led the team in scoring but didn’t seem to do much other leading.

Bjorkstrand had the most consistent battle level on the team, pretty much the perfect get pucks deep and win them back player. I'd love it if our young players could learn from him.

Having said that, offering Brindley is a significant offer in my books. Maybe too steep.

100% on his compete. But not convinced he is a leader.

Anyway, JD was part of the brain trust that signed him to an extension and then traded him away one year into his contract. I doubt he is re-acquired while JD is here. I doubt JD wants OB around telling young guys who need new contracts that the Jackets will possibly screw them over.

He is a leader in the sense that he's the guy you follow when the rest of the team isn't playing their game, just do what he does and you'll be good.

That is quite the yarn. JD isn't in charge and he likely has nothing against bringing Bjorkstrand back.

Bjorkstrand has a modified no trade clause (10 team no trade list). I think it is more likely CBJ is on that list than it is those in the front office wouldn't want him back.

He said he and his wife were eager to settle down in Columbus and were shocked by the trade. Seattle is doing a stealth long term rebuild so I don't think it's unlikely he'd welcome a trade back.

Bjork has never hit 60 points in his career and will be 30 next year, this ship has sailed. We need a game breaking talent like Panarin or JG

I don't think it's likely that we acquire him, so I hesitate to respond to more Bjorkstrand posts, but suffice it to say that I disagree with the notion that we wouldn't benefit from adding a 59 pt veteran that keeps the puck in the right end of the rink.

adding to this that he's the exact kind of player (smart, wins puck battles, savvy in his own zone, right-shot right wing) that fantilli needs if they're going to keep using him in his current role.

What do we think about trading for JT Miller? All around Ppg player who is an asshole (I think we are missing this). Would allow him and monny to get the heavy matchups at 1 and 2 C and guys like Fantilli and Lindstrom to develop in more sheltered roles. I’d imagine silly would be in that deal

I've been more and more impressed by JT Miller as a player. He's really brilliant, I think he'll be well worth that contract as he ages (I was not saying this two years ago).

From what I've gathered he is not very democratic with other leaders on his team, he tends to try to be more of the autocrat. And that's risky to add to your room. I want someone who can be that fiery leader but also work with Monahan and Werenski and our other leaders (including young leaders who will be stepping up) when they are taking space.

I bet the trade would involve one (or more) of our more valuable players, Silly would not be a main piece.

What we have in our projected TOP 9? (My thoughts)

- 3 centers in Monahan, Fantilli and Sillinger.
- 3 left wings in KJ, Jenner and Voronkov (all prefer the left side)
- 2 right wings in Marchenko and Chinakhov (yes Chinny can play LW too)

Out of those 8 forwards Marchy is the only one who has a right handed shot.

So I think we should try to acquire 1 right shot RW in the offseason and our TOP9 is set. Bjorkstrand would fit very well but maybe getting him is a pipedream.

I think this is fair, however…..I think Fantilli will become an excellent player but I see his future at wing rather than center.

Maybe he is a center, maybe not.

But I see some similarities between Fantilli and MacKinnon. And I'm not saying they are equally good, but they have somewhat similar style carrying the puck with great speed etc. MacKinnon had Landeskog with him helping with faceoffs etc in the early years of his career. Maybe we can put Jenner there on Fantilli's wing and give him time to learn to play like a top6 center should play. It's only his sophomore season so I'm still optimistic that he can grow to be our future 1C.

Brindley is a right shot right wing.

I know, but we can't just give him the spot can we? He has to earn it. And we need depth since we have guys with injuries every single year.
