My only question:
Who did David Vyborny piss off to not be on this list?
In all honesty, how much of Panarin and Johnny making this list is because of their star power and what they did with other teams more-so than what they actually accomplished with Columbus?
Both deserving players but if we are talking about actual accomplishments in Columbus, leaving Vyborny off this list for them is a bit of a travesty considering he was here for 7 years and is still top 6 on the career points list.
Team 1 is very good. Team 2... not so much. Needs more KopitarWhat a dumpster fire of an organization if these are the best players in the last 25 years.
In any event or reasoning, Vyborny is a victim of recency bias. Out of sight, out of mind. He was an important part of those early teams even if they all sucked. I'm certainly not saying those guys don't deserve to be on it but it can be kind of hard to judge a small sample size against a more significant stretch of play in the team's history.Panarin made more of a difference in two years than Vyborny made in 7. By a good margin. You don't have to look at what Panarin did elsewhere, for me it's the same as if he only played those two years in his career.
I wouldn't question Panarin or Johnny's place here. Looks right to me.
I think the question with Vyborny is more that there isn't a big gap between him and Cam and Foligno and Jenner. For me personally, that last first team is very debatable between all of those guys.
Savard yes but Tyutin no imo. Honestly I take Ryan Murray over Tyutin.I don’t much care for these things especially for a still relatively young franchise, but I don’t have many problems with our listings. I don’t know about Tyutin/Savard over JJ but that’s my only gripe.
Another victim of recency bias.Ray Whitney and Johnny Gaudreau have very similar numbers for their two seasons in Columbus.
Whitney 151 games 140 points -49
Gaudreau 161 games 134 points -60

Tyutin was a turnover machine. If thats your fourth best defenseman of all time for this franchise I'm not sure what to say.

That Mason is our second team goalie speaks volumes. He had one great year - his rookie year - and faded into being a below average goalie.Id put Denis in over Mason. And Vyborny not being there is garbage.
I’d have JMFJ over Toots as well. The JJ we see now is a shell of the guy who joined the CBJ in the Carter trade and added immense energy to the teamI don’t much care for these things especially for a still relatively young franchise, but I don’t have many problems with our listings. There are/were better options. He just played in this franchise for a while. Not really an accomplishment imo.I mean the team has achieved effectively nothing, so it sorta makes sense doesn't it?
misdemeanor or felony?Cases can be made for these players of course, that’s how they made the list, but no Vyborny is criminal.
And what exactly did Ryan Murray accomplish in his time here other than being injured?Tyutin was a turnover machine. If thats your fourth best defenseman of all time for this franchise I'm not sure what to say.
