Why am I concerned this is a step by Kazan to keep Voronkov in Russia long term. First they give him more money, then they name him captain, next they will be trying for the extension.
Voronkov get more money because his previous contract was simply funny. Besides reportedly Ak Bars afraid Voronkov can buy his contract for its value.
What`s happen his C/A, a coach of Ak Bars is Kvartalnov, who loves to play with young players, give them a chance so I`m not suprise it.

Is Boones clip playing at 1/2 speed of Voronkov , or is that just Boone

Or are the players Boone is playing against just faster than those in the Voronkov clip?

Even though it’s (a bit) different with some guys playing in higher leagues like the KHL, there’s been a consistent problem around here with people undervaluing ACTUAL NHL players (mainly CBJ players) in relation to their actual ability compared to these incoming prospects, where people only have highlights and statistics of these guys playing against many (very young) players/defenseman and goalies that will never advance to the “pro” ranks, and for a lack of better terms, are not very good.

It’s hilarious people posting highlights of players making moves past defenseman of extremely poor quality and attempting to make claims of a players skill because of it.

I watched most of the game...kid has serious skill...he's not a 3rd liner imo...may not be a 1C but he's got talent...guessing you're just spouting off against it, and haven't watched him?

I’d also like to take this time to be a terrible person and “pit” a couple prospects against each other.

From the small amount I’ve seen of both guys playing, I’m not sure either Johnson or Sillinger will or could be centers at the NHL level. To put it into perspective, I’m not a fan of either Domi or Roslovic currently being NHL centers, either.

However, whether it’s talking about being a center or simply the better player, I am blown away that it seems like so many seem to be giving the edge to Sillinger in ANY way over Johnson.

Sillinger is nowhere close to having the skating ability needed to be a NHL center right now, and I’d argue that his style is just as (or more) built for the wing as Johnson or Roslovic/Domi.

To me, it’s clear that Johnson is superior in essentially every way, and Sillinger doesn’t play like a center in any way really.

The “point” or “question” is, how would (a guy like) Boone Jenner look like against the same competition??

And why do people continue to “trash” Jenner in ANY WAY, anyways!?!

Why are people ALLOWED to bash Jenner and not a Gavrikov!?! (and some others)

Sucks when, in order to make Voronkov look good, they have to bash someone else in the process.

I'm not bashing Boone, if 30g Boone were to come back, hework well with Laine and Jake...but he is what he is I think...a more than serviceable 3rd line C/W...I love he extended...

I rarely can tell if you are serious or just trolling for fun.

Possibly both..?? Can being “serious” also be “fun”??

Goals against are just as valuable as goals scored. That is VERY RELEVANT to Jack Roslovic, and him playing center.

Some people prefer a center with 15 goals forward and 20 against. (Roslovic)

I’ll take the guy with 7 goals forward and 6 goals against. (Jenner)

And please, no need for the calculators. These numbers above are representative of their play style and ability, in my opinion.

Usage. Playing in between 2 good offensive players (and most importantly FOCUSING on offense) is what would get him back to “big” offensive numbers.

The CBJ rolling with a “two way” 1st line of say, Nyquist/Texier-Jenner-Bjorkstrand would IMO be better for both Jenner’s offensive statistics and for the team in general, than rolling with a combo of Laine-Roslovic plus whoever else and giving them huge 5 on 5 ice time numbers.

To add, NO, I don’t see much of a situation that Jenner and Laine would ever work well together.

To be clear, expressing my opinions that I know people have a problem with, IS NOT the same as expressing opinions simply for that reason.

I can’t help if people feel “trolled”….

Without debating the rankings the thing that is unsettling about the list is that only Werenski is a sure shot guy to make it. Roslovic probably is. Laine has been and hopefully will be again. The rest? Hope springs eternal. Thank goodness.

The only one to make a list of top Jackets players under 25?

Just to clarify the exercise was to rank the top 25 Jackets under 25 not in the whole league.

I was saying that, imo Weresnki is the only guy on the list who is for certain to be a long time NHLer with some expectation that Laine & Roslovic will be. Some of the rest could become all time greats or long time role players in the league but none of them have shown that to be the case yet.

Now I’m just more confused. I wasn’t sure it was possible but when you and I work together we can accomplish great things.

I'd take a guy who's played NHL games (Dunne) over some in your 17-25 group. I also like Knazko enough to put up in the 20s probably. Otherwise, nothing really seems too out of place. I'd probably put Bean in the top 10 (and at least ahead of Peeke), though, and certainly ahead of a guy who went 42 straight games without a goal to end last season. But those are mostly nitpicks.

I’d be close to this for the top 20. Laine up 1 spot. Ceulemans and Foudy up 2 spots each. We could argue all day over 21-25, but why would we do that?
