Grégory anyone?
After return Rosandic maybe it would be good to let him with GernatAnother impressive performance from Knazko. It’s crazy how he looks better against men here at the WC than he did at WJC, must’ve made big strides in last few months. He needs to add strength to improve his shot and passing but he has high offensive iq. He set up several Slovaks for clear chances today and should have had 2-3 assists if we could finish our chances
I agree, I would play Bucko over Gachulinec probably. After return Rosandic maybe it would be good to let him with Gernat
Knazko, Gernat - Rosandic, Janosik - Nemec, Daloga - Grman, Gachulinec
It`s normal. I like his transition to NZ, receiving the puck and how he believed himself.I agree, I would play Bucko over Gachulinec probably.
Knazko had a few good scoring chances today. He can still make some questionable decisions but that will happen cause of his youth.
He signed one year contract with TPS Turku. So after the next season. Of course if Jarmo doesn`t make understood with TPS. In this case maybe sooner. When do you think Columbus will sign ELC with Knazko?
He's not ready so let him stay with Turku at least another season. He signed one year contract with TPS Turku. So after the next season. Of course if Jarmo doesn`t make understood with TPS. In this case maybe sooner.
Not to be argumentative but is 4 straight years in the playoffs not some measure of success and certainly pushes down the draft pick ranks. The trade of Jones will change this view, as will the post draft. I still happen to really like our young players playing in the NHL. The 20, 21 and 22 year olds need to take a step, that changes the need for the prospect pool to push the team./ Then it becomes augmentation. We're certainly in a tough spot right now but I want to see what shakes out by August 1st, then I'll jump overboard.I know we have had these kinds of debates before: what is a "prospect"? Are Tex and Bemmer still part of the "prospect pool" or have they already graduated?
Either way, it still reflects some real concerns (for Buffalo too). One example is that all the teams behind us other than the Sabres have had plenty of on ice success the past 5-10 years and should be drafting later and have a weaker prospect pool. Us and Buffalo...no excuse.
Its not argumentative...its discussion. Is it success compared to Buffalo, Arizona and Montreal? Absolutely but those aren't the teams I want the CBJ to be compared to. Compared to the other teams right below them in the rankings? Not so much. Sustained success should mean lower ranked prospect pool (Pens, Bolts, Caps, etc) and sustained suckitude should mean higher ranked prospect pool (Kings, Devils, Ducks, etc). Making the first round of the playoffs means mediocrity...just above average. Safe to say over the last five years the CBJ have sustained slightly above average success.
These rankings cited are comparing drafts from 2016-2020 so I am looking at results from 2015-2016 season to 2019-2020 season. Awarding 5 points for a Cup, 4 for a finals appearance, 3 for a third round appearance, etc:
We and the Sabres are the outliers here. Its a bad place to be.
- Pens (14 points): 2 Cups, 1 second round exit, 2 first round
- Bruins (10 points): 1 Finals, 1 third round, 1 second round, 1 first round, 1 no playoffs
- Caps (12 points): 1 Cup, 3 second round, 1 first round
- Bolts (12 points): 1 Cup, 2 third round, 1 first round, 1 no playoffs
- Blues (12 points): 1 Cup, 1 third round, 2 second round, 1 no playoffs
- CBJ (6 points): 2 second round, 2 first round, 1 no playoffs
So what should I know about Samuel Knazko?
He has very good skating, moving, acceleration, the first pass, strong on the puck, very good hockey IQ, vision, doesn`t panic. He can play hard. Improve... a shot, muscule, be stronger. He can be a real steal. IMHO one of our the best d-man in WC if not the best.So what should I know about Samuel Knazko?
Yeah, but it was said his goal was to play in North America...sounded like he was willing to go to AHLI just noticed on CapFriendly that Yegor Chinakhov's ELC with the Columbus Blue Jackets does contain a European Assignment Clause. To me that suggests that if Yegor doesn't make the big league squad from the get-go that he could be loaned back to Avansgard Omsk or another KHL team.
