If anything, it’s the fans criticizing Mika and Trouba that actually understand the big picture.

Their inconsistent play is exactly what we’ve seen for years. They have flashes of brilliance and god awful, and it’s difficult to know night-to-night what type of effort you’ll get. Those types of players can’t be relied upon to play consistent enough hockey when it matters most in the playoffs to win a Stanley Cup. I don’t care if the rest of the team around them is good enough to win the Presidents Trophy. If they’re your 1C and Captain, respectively, you’re not winning a Cup.

You could tell yesterday that they barely had anything left in the tank against PHI. The outcome of this game did not shock me in the slightest.

Not here for any hot takes. Clearly gassed team coming off 10 straight deserves the benefit of the doubt. Miller and Trouba were a disaster after a solid stretch.

A couple days off and time to regroup. Wouldn’t shock me to see Drury make his first of a few trades I expect between now and Wednesday

Don’t care about the loss, they could lose Wednesday, and I wouldn’t really care. The NHL regular season is largely meaningless on a night to night basis.

The Rangers being all in at the deadline, and seemingly not seeing the top 4 of the defense being a huge issue would be my big problem with the team.
