To Minnesota:
Kirill Marchenko
Cole Sillinger

To Columbus:
Jesper Wallstedt
Marco Rossi
Liam Ohgren
David Spacek

Minnesota gets the best player in Marchenko but Rossi is close. Wallstedt had a rough year and Minnesota has a solid goaltender in Gus so moving him won't hurt the Wild. Sillinger still has potential and offers Minnesota a bigger center to replace Rossi.

Breakdown is Rossi + Ohgren + Spacek for Marchenko

Marchenko is 6’3” top line winger who played through a broken jaw last season and had 30 goals.

Why would Columbus move him to get smaller?

Minnesota says no.

Also, Columbus has Greaves now and Gardner coming in the next 5 years. Not sure they're desperate for a young high end prospect. I would see it being more likely that they target a good vet like John Gibson or Binnington as opposed to a Wallstedt Askarov type.

uh...yeah... I'm gonna say no. Marchenko is way too important, cost effective and part of the core to be moved. He'll be a long term Jacket. Not saying the players offered are bad, but he's not one that will be moved.

Is Columbus building or retooling or what are they doing?
Columbus is out of the rebuild and retool stage. They are looking for pieces to augment the core and improve. The main focus is on the D and in goal (first), but also looking for another big top 9 piece - preferably one that plays higher in the lineup with experience.

Why on earth would the Jackets trade away Marchenko... Even for this return it doesn't make any sense

I do like how Wild fans were discussing Sillinger and TSK threw in Marchenko for fun lol.

Marchenko is everything we need (except center position) and that’s exactly why he wouldn’t be available for trade.

Columbus probably values Marchenko the same way Minnesota values Boldy. Lanky 6-3 winger, still only 24, coming off 30 goals and 75 points. He’s a star. I can only imagine the hype some of these Jackets youngsters like Marchenko, Voronkov and Johnson would have if they were on a bigger market team.
