Columbus Dispatch to end publication of ThisWeek Community News
ThisWeek Community News has been publishing hyperlocal news stories and high school sports in central Ohio since 1989.news.wosu.org
I worked at ThisWeek as a writer and editor for 25 years before the company sort of transferred me to the Dispatch's magazine division in 2015, and then again as a freelancer for the past three years after they laid me off from the magazine division.
This is not surprising to anyone who's followed print media. I have bemoaned the state of contemporary corporate media and that, coupled with a general lack of appreciation and understanding of the role of community media in a world in which we're inundated with national and world news constantly and thus a lack of willingness to support it, make the end of ThisWeek a foregone conclusion.
But it's still sad to me nonetheless.

Nice.
That’s great to hear. These are not server farms, they are data centers. Office complexes with workers.
Friggin-a crypto mineI saw a story about a city in the Carolinas that had a server farm move in offering all kinds of money and now it’s creating so much noise people can’t sleep in the area
My heart bleeds.my mother in law and her blue haired new albany cronies are not pleased with all this development. They were looking for shopping and restaurants not wharehouses and server farms when they moved to new albany she says.
