I'm glad JB gets to start. We need wins right now and he looked great last game.

I belive i read on twitter somewhere its only a weekish sorta thing but who knows for sure
I read the same thing. Supposedly it's the type of injury that you play through in the playoffs, so it nothing to worry too much about.

That the Blue Jackets are awful and will be lucky to pass 15 shots?

That'd be the same luck as during the last meeting when they got 20?

Yes, we should expect to beat Columbus, but calling them awful is over the top, especially since that awful team has only one fewer point than we do right now.

and an awful team that destroyed San Jose on the scoreboard a few days ago.

I gotta give it to Columbus fans. They have stuck around for some bad seasons like we have. They have a good GM in place and a huge opportunity with 3 1sts coming up....but realistically, they are picking in the top 4 next draft.

They have alot of depth players up front...they need to get some top end talent up there quickly. Scoring regularly is going to be difficult this season.

The top 4 of Wiz, Jack, Tyutin, and Nikitin are actually pretty solid IMO and underrated league wide.

Mason or Bobrovsky will eventually need to step up and become a top 12 netminder in the league. I think mason has more upside.

The Jackets will struggle to score all year and unless Bobrovsky or Mason suddenly become a top 5 goalie then the Jackets are picking top 4.

I agree. The blue jacketfans have been though a lot and will likely have to endure 2 or 3 more loosing season, however they have some great pieces and I like the way their team is shaping up.
When the free preview for centre ice was on I had no issues watching blue jacket games. If Bernier was ever moved there (no likely with Brob and Mason) I would definately start routing for the jackets.

the #1 possession team (Kings) are facing the #30 possession team (Blue Jackets), with the #1 being at home.

That doesn't mean that the Kings walk all over them and get a win, but it does mean its unlikely the Jackets get many shots since they wont have the puck

This worked last time so PUCK U, this one is for you baby doll

Those same facts existed when the BJ's got 20 shots just over a week ago, so your 15 shot comment held no merit. It may happen, but to shoot that out there is not supported by facts.

Missed the game, saw the highlights. Generally speaking, was the effort there similar to the red wings and blues? Or did we eke out a win against the Columbus Blue Jackets?

A little of both. Until the final minutes, we were playing very strong defensive hockey. They weren't getting much in the way of opportunities and we limited them to like 6 shots for over half the game, including them having two powerplays. However, as Jim Fox pointed out, we weren't looking the same offensively as we did against the Wings and Blues. The Blue Jackets were doing the same thing to us, limiting our shots and pushing us to the outside. We were dominating offensive zone possession, but were merely cycling it around the boards for minutes on end with no real opportunities. Clifford's goal was beastly, but Richards' goal was a fluke. Even though we dominated the stats, the game felt like a slight step backward. We're going to need a significantly better effort against the Hawks, that's for sure...

If they had finished with 20 like they did the last game, would you be posting that?

As I said, it may happen, but that doesn't mean your comment wasn't ignorant.

Its not ignorance, its just...well..hockey

when the #1 possession team plays the #30, with the #1 being at home, regardless of who those teams are, the #30 just isn't going to have the puck enough to generate a lot of shots

Next time they play, unless something changes with both teams, the Jackets will again have around 15 shots

You're right sir and nice prediction.

I also agree that the Jackets are an awful team.
