Bingo also rhymes with Dingo.

Peace and love, peace and love...

All I gotta say is can this stupid schedule start giving us some Damn games. What's with all the days off. We played more games consistently in the regular season now in a condensed schedule it feels less.

The interesting thing to me in this scenario is that the CBJ have had the same amount of time off as LA before this game.

It's been a long time since Bernier earned a start in consecutive games. Let's hope he shines here. He's asked for an opportunity to start and he's getting more this season. Now don't drop the ball!

Bernier off the ice first per Foxy. So he's starting.

oh boy oh boy.
I hate how we have had such long breaks between games. Gets me all nervous for when game day actually comes. I know the second half of the shortened schedule looks like hell for LA.

I think Bernier is the right choice for tonight.

Quick seems to be one of those guys that needs to work with Ranford from time to time to get his focus back and work on the little things that may have slipped from his game by not having good, solid time with Ranford.

I can't remember a time where he has had 4-5 days with Ranford and not come back strong.

Playing Devils Advocate here (or juct putting the jinx on) but lets say Bernier pitches a SO tonight. How would he not get the start against Chicago.

Quick, but if he dosen't show what is needed I can see Bernier taking over from there

I think Bernier didn't get many games last year becouse he was realy not that good when he got chance to play, Sutter lost confidence in him...if he can string some good games together he will get more starts.

Starting Bernier....

1) Lights the fire under Quick's @ss

2) Increases Bernier's trade value (assuming he has a good showing)

3) Rewards Bernier for his last win

4) ...is good for a King's team in search of a winning rhythm

...Hell, why would anyone NOT want to start Bernier?

If any GM in the league bases his assessment of a player off of one or two games (against the Columbus Blue Jackets, no less), he should be fired immediately. But yes, you're right there is no downside to giving Bernier the go tonight.

Showcasing a player is one of the most overused terms used by hockey "analysts" and fans.

Not many NHL coaches, if any, would tolerate a GM coming to them and telling them who to play for the sake of showcasing. Coaches job is to win games with the best possible roster given to him. A coach won't put his job on the line by playing someone not worthy of a spot just because the GM says so.

The situation in Vancouver is a perfect example. If the GM had his way then Luongo would have seen hardly any ice time. Vigneault is starting the goalie who is going to win games. It's the GM's fault for having Luongo still on the team when he shouldn't be and Vigneault is using the roster he has at his disposal to win games.

They still have an unhappy Luongo, and now Schneider's agent has come out publicly with his concerns for ice time. It all falls on the GM. It's not the coaches job to deal with GM drama.

I deal with the bernier trade rumours more then most king fans and i always see the comment hes not proven playing him more is the only way to defend this. I am happy hes getting at least another game. Personally i go with what sutter has said and play the hotter goalie if he plays well and we win I say start him till he loses. The season is to short to play quick and hope he gets back We need points and i think playing the hotter goalie makes alot sence.

any word how long amart is gonna be out. kings sure are being tight lipped about injuries.

So yeah, they should assess him from his time riding the bench?

Anyone trading for Bernier is trading for a guy they think can be a starting netminder. St. Louis was the first start Bernier's had since March 31, 2012. That's the first start in 10 1/2 months. If a team is interested in bring him now, they will only have that start and this one potentially to judge him on.

Current performance dictates a players value, and since Sutter's come in 14 months ago, I think Bernier's had like seven starts. No Gm/scout can base their understanding of Bernier on anything more than a few games, because odds are they haven't watched him play more than once or twice as a starter.

And scouting a goalie as a start versus coming off the bench are two totally different things.
