Stuff and Things
Stuff you said

Vix you know I like you but you take stuff so personally. You really get so worked up about all of this stuff when people honestly don't mean anything by it. Or, at least, most people don't mean anything by most of it. There are always going to be **** stirrers. Ignore the rabble rousers. Just let them rouse their rabble.

I've been very deliberately and personally targeted in the recent past. It's a tad justified.

Its too bad our ownership was stupid enough to let him trade Nash. I have to think JD would like to have Nash back to build around

I've seen that movie.

It's a nice thought, and I love Nash, but I'm also a firm believer that the only way for this franchise to realize its potential is to tear down to the core and rebuild. I anxiously await, and embrace, JD's next steps.

A coach, GM, President and super star removed from their CBJ hockey duties within the last year and a half... that's actually impressive, things should get better soon, perhaps in time for some sustained success before the current season is over...

This is going to be interesting ...

Viqsi, this may come as a shock to you. But people are allowed to have all kinds of opinions different than your own. And not only are they entitled to such opinions, they entitled to those opinions without your snarggie comments being thrown at them because they had the temerity to have opinions which do not coincide with yours.

Well, I wasn't going to say anything, but I would be willing to step into the GM shoes... and I work fairly inexpensively!! Where do I sign up? Chili for everybody!

No, I believe the call was explicitly for him to be fired. Nobody was willing to go halfway - at least, nobody that was willing to actually speak up.

When you get harassing emails, PMs, and chat messages, then you can talk to me about whether or not it was an embarrassing time. Already getting not-so-subtle jabs like that in here.

Congrats. You'd be the first I've ever seen, and I've been looking. Every other interaction I've seen with folks who supported that protest have ascribed to it everything from the Patrick hiring to the timing of the ASG announcement.

Seriously. We've already had folks in this thread saying that the protest was directly responsible for making both actions happen. And the only person here - the only one - objecting to that nonsense is me. Given the observed, recorded history of "F.A.N.S." supporters, what the heck am I supposed to believe?

Normally I assume that there's sane members of any given subgroup that are willing to tell the crazies to stop being crazy. But I have never seen this with the protesters - and so far what I've seen in this thread continues to justify that.

Yeah. Folks cared enough to start making repeated personal attacks against other fans. Such a glorious, glorious time.

I'm sorry, but there is no way in which I will ever suggest that that protest was a good thing.

* * *

I don't come up with the hyperbole, I merely predict it. We've seen even crazier before.

* * *

These are folks suggesting that one of Howson's more constructive actions (which we can ALL agree on) suddenly couldn't possibly be ascribed to Howson, out of some assumption that he'd be a selfish craven *******. What the hell kind of other reading IS there?

I'd love to hear alternatives.
how about an anger management class?

The team is moving forward. I don't care what caused it or didn't cause it.

I participated in the protest for two reasons:
1.) to get the attention of ownership, which previously seemed disengaged from the franchise
2.) to show the rest of the hockey world we care about and love our NHL team - and we hate losing as much as they do.

As for the compromise on Priest, I'm quite happy with it. He's doing a job he's actually qualified to do. But "Reassign Priest to financial matters only and keep him out of hockey decisions" would not fit on a protest sign. :sarcasm:

I've already been getting "ha ha you lose" emails and one-and-a-half thinly veiled "**** off and go away" posts in this thread. That's kind of a large part of why I'm annoyed.

Given that, I'll be happy to take a step back when other folks are willing to extend the same courtesy.

Have it on good intel that Jarmo Kekalainen will be named GM of the Columbus Blue Jackets Wednesday morning. Dave Taylor definitely out.

This thread is like a sbd fart..everyone pointing at each

other. I liked Scott Howson, thankful for Jack Johnson, and if I'm not mistaken he completed a deal of Kris Russell for Nikitin? I will always love Rick Nash, but also really like Dubie, Artem and Erixon plus that infamous 3rd 1st rounder.:handclap:

As for Jarmo, I have been a fan ever since the first draft I watched where every other teams representative blustered along and JD said and to make the pick Jarmo.. and Jarmo just threw out the club and the name. Straight to the point, no congrats to the SC winner, thanks for the hospitality.. just this is the guy I want.

We could do a lot worse than a tandem of JD & Jarmo. (and we have in the past):sarcasm:

I'll agree with Portzline here.

The worst move of Howson's tenure was hiring Arniel. Everything went downhill from there.

Still don't have it bolted down, but still leaning hard that it's going to be Jarmo Kekalainen.
