Ugh! That was the last thing we needed.

I dunno. Three of the four penalties were pretty clear and I can’t say I’ve seen a bad missed call that’d help the Jackets.
not saying the 4 penalties were bad calls but they missed a pretty blatant high stick in the first period and a cross check in the third.

All good, we will take care of the other Alberta team, have faith !
Eh, thats not one im expecting us to win, but hopefully we can pull out a point.

Better chance against Vancouver. Or maybe catch Winnipeg on a bad night of a B2B with travel.

appalling stat of the night:

6 players were on the ice for 2 shots on goal or less at even strength the entire night.

KJ surprisingly being one of them.

(kuraly, JVR, lebanc among the others)

Werenski and Fabbro were spent towards the end of the game, they just play too many minutes. Mateychuk needs to be called up to balance out the blue line. The current bottom pair clearly is not seen as dependable, to an extent I'm not comfortable with given the options the team has. I would like to see the team be able to consistently roll three pairs in a tight game, and let Werenski be fresher when it matters most. His stamina is fantastic but I don't see him keeping this level of play for 82 games if his workload stays this absurd.

I also would like to see what the defensive lineup looks like with Mateychuk and Provorov at once. It seems like that would be a thing we all would be curious about in hindsight if they never intersect.

I'm 100% in agreement that we need Mateychuk up here to balance out the attack, so we stop wearing out Werenski. A fresher Werenski is going to score more than the guy playing 29 minutes a night.

I'll add that it's not really because Christiansen - Harris is unreliable, it's that they're very low event. We needed offense and they don't make any. Harris in particular is a zero offense player. So the coach didn't want to use them. I'm thinking that Mateychuk is already overripened and that we need him up here.

I fell asleep after setting the stream from onhockey (during the millionth commercial etc.). 4 a.m. is 4 a.m. Could someone give me a recap of how we played?

Do you think:

Werenski, Fabbro
Provorov, Mateychuk (anyone wrote Danton played excellent on RS in the PO)
Christiansen, Severson

Btw, Fabbro played so much only because he was with Werenski.

But one of Harris/Christiansen/J. Johnson must be on waiver in that case.

That's the exact lineup I want but I don't think they would deploy that based on Evason speaking highly of Provorov-Severson. I would be fine with Mateychuk with Christiansen or Hunt as the third pair even, just whatever keeps Werenski from playing half of the game.
