It was more coaching tonight I think. In the third, the D was much more conservative in the offensive zone.
Yea, on the flip side those other teams are saying the same thing about us (and they aren't wrong)!
Can't question the Jackets' work ethic. Tippett has them, even the fleet of AHL recalls and depth guys in the lineup due to all of their injuries, rowing vigorously in the same direction.

We've been over this. It is imperative that they finish in 9th or 10th in the conference so that we can simultaneously ruin our draft pick and management can go into the summer saying "see?!? nothing needs to be done!"
They are mental midgets - got to a playoff position before Thanksgiving and then fell apart as a tiny bit of expectation crept in (as well as missing their best player for half of that losing streak). Chicago before they built their Cup teams used to do this - suck until the playoffs were not achievable and then remember how to play the game. They're children.

6 losses out.
these kids are alright except two or three joki cozens I rarely see anything that doesnt annoy
it's just Adams if Levi in goal it's a shutout or we lose 5 to 3
if Adams plucked more zuckers this board wouldn't be miserable.. One shoenfeld it might be the Bills..

Outside of the 13 game streak, they're 22-16-2. That's a .575 point percentage across 40 games, which would be good for 7th in the East. Take that for what you will.

Similarly, I was poking around on JFresh's Patreon and noticed similar results:
While we're not exactly great outside of December, it turns out that being just ok is more than good enough in the league this year.
Similar to the stupid Covid year, this should have been an easier year to make the playoffs. What a wasted opportunity this season.

This is the type of stuff I'd expect out of a young team that's learning. Or, ya know, what I expected this team to do back in 22/23. Frankly, swap 22/23 with this year and everything makes a ton of sense.
But.....this is the Sabres. They don't make sense.
