Chaput WAS called up. He played poorly.

Karlsson wasn't even in the organization when Wennberg was playing badly.

So we're back to just Tynan - whom nobody but me cared about until folks noticed his AHL scoring last year.

Hey now, I've always back Tynan.

I'm glad Saad is working out for you guys! Hopefully the karma pendulum swings the other way from last year and you have a healthy season full of great luck and breakout performances :)

I haven't been watching your pre-season games, just been hearing about the damage. OOC, how has the top line been deployed re: zone starts and competition, and any idea/speculation on how it will be in the regular season?

Lats season, was the Johansen line primarily an offensive unit that got the significant bulk of their starts in the Ozone, or is it more of a 2-way line. If it's the latter, Saad will fit right in. If it's the former, I'm interested to see how many points he piles up in that role.

about last summer.
Looking on the NHL.com enhanced stats page:

Joey OZ face offs = 367, DZ face offs = 387, 5 on 5 Zone start % = 48.67 (I don't know what that one means).

But skimming through the players, almost everyone had more DZ starts than OZ starts. I don't know how useful the info is.

I think if Richards has his way, it won't matter which line plays where. He'd like to roll four lines the entire game. I think he can.

Joey and Foligno are both defensively responsible. I'd say almost all of our forwards are, it seems like it is part of the game plan.

367 / (367 + 387) = 48.67

Highest o-zone start percentage among our centers, but nothing extreme.

Karlsson, Tynan, Chaput. Along with NUMEROUS wingers who should have seen more time. I'm not gonna go back and look at timelines on injuries but there's was plenty of time when we had available centers playing wing while Wennberg was "handed" the spot.

I'm gonna laugh when Karlsson beats out Wenny for that 3rd C spot. Would add a whole other aspect of "winning" that trade.

Chaput was already up. Karlsson wasn't in the organization.

Your irrational hate of Wennberg is getting silly now. Have you been to any of the preseason games? I like Karlsson a lot, but he's nowhere near Wennberg's level. It looks like he's taken another step to me. I guess we'll see soon enough.

**** trade.

Johansen is now the issue AGAIN instead of Wennberg.

Goal scoring was not the problem.

Saad is not the answer to ANYTHING.

Anisimov > Saad as hockey players.

Dano's energy and actual low key goal scoring abilty (thats about as good as Saad's) is also clearly missed.

Wait... "Anisimov > Saad"?

You're serious?... Career PPG: Anisimov = 0.47. Saad = 0.60. That's actually a pretty big difference when looking at PPG numbers. This season? Yeah, Arty has been better. In their respective careers? Arty isn't close to being on the level that Saad has performed on.

in all seriousness, there's more to both players than point production, but I don't think there's that much difference outside of points.

Yes I am serious. That's not even that much of a difference. And you leave out that Saad has played on much better teams and with much better players than Anisimov has most of the time. Not to mention roles they have mainly played. You even say Arty has been better this year. Like the Wiz defenders you cant just use a players career high or career year and pass it off as a judgement on how've they've ALWAYS been. So what happens when Arty is better this year AND the next 3-4? And yes offensively Anisimov is a better player. And defensively. Saad has him on acceleration and maybe just overall speed but a lot of that just has to do with Arty being bigger. Or maybe it just LOOKS like Saad is quicker....those Johansen-like 6'4 strides. ;)

Really downplaying the two-way play of Arty and his ability to LITERALLY play ANY type of role offensively. ANY.

Now you see clearly.

And just to clarify...Anisimov > Saad ? Or you not ready to commit to me yet.

Trust is the key.

Johansen is gone before Nov, book it.

Just to clarify, Boll > Bus?

We have about the same amount of impact on the team winning or losing.

Booked. I just can't see this happening.

Obviously the odds aren't very good, but IMO something seems "UP" with the team, management/coaching and Johansen.

I think the odds of there being some sort of legitimate "issue" with him are more than him being "sick" with something and nobody having any idea till now.

I hear ya. I'll give it a week or so to see if this smoke turns into fire.

Yeah we have this fancy new advanced stat called "Miles Per Hour". It involves decimals though, so maybe you won't like it.

Either way, it's a thing, and Saad is fast.

Anyone else been very disappointed in Saad's play so far this year? Sometimes when you don't notice a particular player, it's a good thing but not in Saad's case. I haven't noticed him much at all.. especially as of late. I was so excited to see him play for CBJ but have been underwhelmed in the first 10 games...

Stat lines:

Last 6 games....

1 point (assist), 4 hits, 1 shot blocked, 14 SOG.

This season so far, 10 games:

3 goals, 1 assist. 4 points. -5.

Hard to tell when the entire team has sucked so much. But his goals are on pace to slightly edge out his career best.
