Time has come. Waivers and maybe someone takes him.

If not, off to Laval.

Yup, i personally get to the point its not even fair to his teammates anymore. Its like when you work a job and you have that one lazy as f employees who makes everyone else work harder.

You go on the ice knowing you will lose with him playing. How deflating it must be

or 3R for all I care, don't ever play that guy anymore.
Yup, pretty much... next step is to send him down to Laval for Dobes. Goalies in todays NHL are a dime a dozen of mediocrity, unless they are generational. Fingers crossed of Fowler.

What people don't realize is 90% of goalies are taught the percentage game now to cover angles.. everything is mechanical.. only those goalies who are capable of getting creative AFTER the 90% probability will become useful.
Primeau is total textbook. Boring and predictable.. hence why he is struggling.. similar to the myriad middling forward prospects; yeah you got speed, but do you have IQ?

NHL is becoming more like NFL.. the playbooks are set.. strategies are set.. players need to rise above the obvious, to perpetuate the unpredictability, otherwise they are useless.

He ranks 75th in the NHL in save percentage.

There are only four goaltenders with a worst save percentage that have appeared in a game this year. But of course none of those disasters have played ten games. In fact, three of them have only played one game.

He also ranks 75th in the NHL this season in goals against.

Enough is enough. It's over for Primeau. Pack your shit and go.

I still can't even believe he wasn't waived after his *last* game before today

Listen, we tried, he tried, it just didn't work
It's all good, just move on
I was hopeful for him coming into this year but like the rest of the team he’s underperformed. I think most of us just see it as an auto-loss now when we know he’s in net.

No hurry to dump him. We’re not making the playoffs so it doesn’t matter. But the moment Fowler is ready this guy’s gone.

At this point, it's looking hard to justify him being back next season in Montreal.

I'd be shocked if the gabs didn't add a veteran back up this summer unless they are 100% sure Dobes is ready to play 25+ games at a high level next year

Primeau will go elsewhere and become the next Charlie Lindgren.

I would get Hughes up from Laval. He is a vet goalie and seems quite solid.

Only 70 spots open in the league & that ain't it Cayden.
I've been done for awhile with him. He's Malcolm Subban at best.
Those goalies at his level come & go. They go throught 5-6 teams for peanuts.
They go throught a good streak of 10 games and then fail further.
Loose one, pick one, they cost nearly nothing to get. Tired HuGo pretend he's a month away to burn the league.

I go to NHL to look at Primeau stats and I'm totally stunned to see his stats. Primeau is just 1 game under .500. According to NHL.com, he has started in 7 games, and he has 2 wins - 3 losses and 1 OTL.

2-3 record isn't bad at all. I thought he has something 1W-7L.

Lindgren at least showed glimpses of NHL potential in his short time in Montreal. He put up good numbers when he had a chance to play but Bergevin preferred having shitty veterans like Niemi, Montoya and Kinkaid instead of giving him a longer look as back up.

Primeau has had chances to play in the NHL for 6 seasons now however hasn't taken advantage of any of the opportunities and cemented his spot in the lineup.

Agreed on Hughes. Give him a shot and let Dobes run with the majority of starts in Laval, Primeau can back him up as there is zero chance anyone claims him.

Would we want a disgruntled Primeau in Laval? That may end up happening but I think that could go sideways. Calling up Connor Hughes is an option.

I didn't even think it was all his fault yesterday. When you have Matheson losing the puck just in front of the net, your chances are slim. Or breakaways because your defenseman falls down or makes an amazing pass to an opponent... yesterday's game was mostly on Matheson, imo.

I don't see Primeau as a guy who would get disgruntled, he's been yo-yoed up and down for several years and seems to handle things like a professional. He would still get a NHL salary and probably knows he needs to play games at a lower level to build his confidence back up.

In his spot the best thing would be to play well in the AHL to help him earn a contract somewhere else this off-season.

Habs terrible losses are usually on Matheson. ;)

Keep him as a backup all year please

Primeau is a 7th round pick , is making an NHL salary and will probably end up playing pro hockey in the AHL or overseas if he wants after the death of his NHL career , why would he be disgruntled , He is surpassing expectations. Yes it sucks he won't be a starter or backup for us but he's done quite well for himself since getting drafted and shouldn't be ashamed or anything

I would put the kid on waivers, and recall Dobes. Primeau goes down and wins a few for Laval, and Dobes gets a shot at some NHL play. He deserves it....

If Priemau can't make the NHL he was a 7th round pick.....no big deal but they are out those years, they thought he was on track to developing.
