Prospect Info: Cayden Lindstrom

Because my understanding of what a Charley horse is, is something you get in the pool, or what you posted:

* *

Why not say contusion or something else?

I get more confused the other way, when someone gets a cramp and calls it a charley horse. I naturally think of it as a contact injury.

Yeah I can't say I think of a cramp like I would a charley horse. I think of contact when I hear the term aswell. Just like as kids when when you'd give someone a charley horse/dead leg

Maybe it’s a regional thing idk

Yeah it's definitely possible because I've never heard them as interchangeable. When I hear cramps I think of a muscle locking up due to overuse or dehydration, usually doesn't take too long to get over. Not enjoyable at all while they are happening though, I get them in my foot on rare occasion and 10/10 do not recommend :laugh:

Charley horse depending on the impact can cause bruising or even a decent amount of damage to the muscle and you get cases like Werenski and now apparently Lindstrom.

I can definitely just see it being a terminology thing, I'm not sure what else I'd call it or normally hear it referred to

Well regardless, I’m “happy” he’s missing two games due to a contusion type injury vs a leg cramp lol

If he was missing games due to leg cramps I don’t even want to think about his back :laugh:

Really good game from Lindstrom today beyond “points.” Even better was his shifts weren’t spaced out like his first few in the WHL finals and it seemed he played a pretty regular game in terms of TOI. Even got PP time. He wasn’t shut down early in the 3rd. Was in it even the last 5 minutes on the PP. Didn’t see irregularities in shifts. Wouldn’t be shocked if he’s shut down because it is a B2B with London tomorrow. First pretty TOI heavy game in over a year. Playing it safe is completely reasonable. MH is already in the semi-finals with the win tonight.

He was pretty physical out of the gate which was good to see. Skating looked much better. Not his usual but can see some of the rust starting to chip off a little. He was net front on PP2 and he was a struggle for Moncton to move and deal with given his size and push back. Screened the goalie for MHs 2nd goal nicely. Pretty pleased.

Thanks for the info. I had read the box score. Lindstrom took 11 face offs (second most on the team) and won 6 which seemed like a good sign. But the wild thing about the box score was Markus Vidicek of Moncton took 36 face offs winning 18 and the rest of the Moncton team took 19 face offs. The guy literally took 2/3 of his team’s face offs. I get overplaying your scorers in a playoff game you are losing, but 2/3 seems like a lot.
