More important, Pärssinen on top while his linemates are at the bottomThe Devon Toews show again.
Incredible!Blackwood:
26 of 27 shots saved
.963 sv %
+3.18 GSAx
8 of 8 high danger shots saved
+2.4 GSAx on high danger shots
I have a strange obsession with Mackinnon’s performance in late zone draws lately. I don’t know if anyone else is noticing but the guy violently puts his body through the dot and straight up refuses to lose when the game is on the line.
Damn, Girard stood taller than his stature tonight.
Pretty nice5v5 - LOC had an 81.28 xGF% in 10:58 seconds. Girard ended the night with 74.10 in 20:36 at 5v5.
I like how the Avs let the Panthers get about ten shots on net in the last 50 seconds to help boost Blackwoods sv%
Eaten ass and doing math. What else could a fan base ask for?All these advanced stats, getting awfully nerdy in here.
We are done at forward, unless there's a season ending injury for MacKinnon on Rantanen. I think we are pretty well set up there.Only 9 minutes of ice time for Malinski tonight, and only 7 for Middleton.
Me thinks the next trade we make is gonna be for a Defenseman.

True, mods delete please
I hope not, 3C is still a huge issue. We are done at forward, unless there's a season ending injury for MacKinnon on Rantanen. I think we are pretty well set up there.
It's not, as Pärssinen gets more acclimated, and we get healthy and bump players into proper positions.I hope not, 3C is still a huge issue.
He might be that guy one day, but I doubt it happens this year unless he starts playing out of his mind. I think it's a safe bet that we don't send him down, especially since we spent assets on him, but I can see him getting scratched here and there to try to get a different guy, like Ivan, in the lineup.Pärssinen was not acquired here to be in for just a few games and then either scratched or waived. He's an RFA center with arguably #2C upside. I'd argue, this is the first phase in jettisoning Colton during the summer, to make more cap room.
Then again, what we've seen with our goalies is that Bednar and CMac might not communicate that well, so who knows
We need to win games now to stay in a comfortable spot, but Pärssinen is a guy who should stay and Ivan Ivan, who has been good, should be sent down because he's exempt.
In the playoffs it will of course be Landy with K & K on the 4th lineI still think Colton will return to the 3C when Nuke gets back. If we ever get Wood back and our 3rd line gets to be Wood - Colton - LoC, and they manage to click like last year, That'll be a scary 3rd line.
4th line will get interesting. Bednar loves Kelly and Kivi, so I'd assume those two stick. That leaves Parssinen and Ivan for the last slot. Will they rotate, or does Ivan get sent down?
Great victory! I shall put some money on Blackwood Vezina also!
One note though: Parker Kelly is where offense goes to die. If the net was the size of a soccer goal, he'd still miss it.
Dude works his ass off, but he shoudn't play 3C. Let's hope Pärssinen keeps getting better and better so we can slot him above Kelly.
May I recommend an induced coma for the rest of the season and playoffs?I go to bed with the Panthers up 1-0. I wake up and the Avalanche won 3-1. I slept good
