Confirmed with Link: Carter Hart Officially Charged With One Count Of Sexual Assault (Per His Lawyers); Non-roster, salary cap info in OP

Imagining the scenario horrifically with the assumption he is proven innocent, returns to philly, with Joel Queneville as the head coach.
:cold:

I don’t advocate for it - because his performance never really justifies the headache that would come with it.

But his NHL career is done. Think he knows that. Maybe he can land a gig in the KHL, but not sure I see that either.

I’d hope he is innocent just bc it means the alleged crime didn’t happen. If it did, disgusting by all those guys. f*** ‘em all.

If he is innocent, he will definitely be back in the league, and decent chance that it would be here.

To be technical, being found not guilty doesn't mean the crime didn't happen, it can mean the prosecution didn't do enough to prove it.

Courts in Canada and the US (and probably the UK) don't really find people "innocent." Just guilty or not guilty, hinging upon if it could be sufficiently proven they did it or not.

This is how OJ happens.

This franchise had Billy Tibbitts. Would it really surprise anyone if Hart returned? If he is found innocent, I am assuming they would sign him

Yes.

I desperately need you to drink a couple of beers Beef

I forget a lot of what happened here but the defense isn’t arguing that the event never happened, right?

It 100% happened but whether things were consensual is what will be looked at.

I’m not positive anyone touches these players knowing what occurred in that room even if doubt it cast on the whole thing through tearing apart the woman’s character.

being found innocent at trial in an adversarial justice system doesn’t really mean the crimes as charged did not occur.

Thanks. It’s getting old seeing the same mistake being made over and over again.

It is going to be ugly, regardless of the verdict.

Yeah, I suspect the trial will most likely be framing the victim as promiscuous and tricking everyone in to doing this so she could then sue them to make millions. That is pretty much the standard and sadly it works if you have the right jury (not sure if Canada has the same system as the US so that may not be entirely accurate in a Canadian court).
