I hope not for obvious reasons but I’m pretty sure their careers would be done. It would be a PR nightmare for a team to bring one back after the suspension. God forbid, but if we lose Hart, I think it won’t be a massive blow to the team with the emergence of Ersson and good defensive play.

Cap'n recommends you feed your dogs salmon with lentils

He actually has no idea what to feed dogs, but he does say that a little pumpkin flesh mixed in with wet food should help your cats break down urinary blockage. Like the kind of pumpkin gunk in a can that you use for pumpkin pie? That shit.

I'm posting this because AFAIK, Strickland is a credible source, with legitimate sources of his own; if this contravenes the rule on speculation, my apologies, and I will delete.

The word coincidence exists for a reason. Eyebrows are obviously raised but people shouldn’t be hasty. It would be messed up if a guy dealing with mental health issues had to be accused of something of this magnitude falsely.

Strickland’s a good source. The phrasing here is also purposely narrow. It only covers league-lead investigations.

Oh dear.

Rick Westhead has been the key journalist on this story. Robyn Doolittle is one of Canada's best reporters. She broke all the Crackhead Rob Ford stories.

Here's a firewalled link to the Globe & Mail story (for my American friends, Canada's equivalent of NYTimes), which doesn't name names (not authorized to) but the headline is scary enough:

Five former 2018 Canada world junior hockey players told to surrender to face charges of sexual assault

Five former 2018 Canada world junior hockey players told to surrender to face charges of sexual assault

Five members of the 2018 world junior hockey team have been told to surrender to London, Ont., police to face charges of sexual assault, according to two sources.

The pending charges are connected to an alleged group sexual assault of a woman in a hotel room. The incident occurred following a Hockey Canada fundraising gala in June, 2018, where the players were honoured for their win at the world junior championships.

The players, who have not been charged yet, have been given a set period of time to present themselves at London police headquarters, according to two sources with knowledge of the investigation who The Globe is not naming because they have not been authorized to speak on the case.
