What a blow, losing your starter….
its a contract year, I find it hard to believe it’s just a mental illness thing, I feel like it’s something specific like something mentioned above as a possibility. You almost never see nhl players take a leave of absence in a contract year, it’s always when they have signed their big contract with multiple years left on it ie. price, knight

I hope everything’s okay.

I know this is speculation, but I want to say it anyway. I’m glad that people and companies are finally more aware and accepting of mental illness.
Indeed.

He's been in and out of the lineup the past couple months or so due to an illness he's been suffering from. It's never been identified to us, but Carter himself disclosed that they know what it is. Whether it is physical or mental, hopefully this time off will help him fully recover.

"Back in my day, guys used booze and coke to deal with everything, today's players just don't have it in them"

Hope he gets the help he needs and it's not 2018 related

You're absolutely right. PLD signed his deal and immediately began an indefinite leave of absence on Opening Night, he just didnt annouce it to his team or the public.

Well unfortunately you don't really get to choose when mental health crises arise

Weird. Hope he’s okay. Edmonton product that I thought was on his way to having a good year in Philly? How did his last couple of starts look?

Lol! The vitriol Kings fans have towards that primadonna is quite entertaining.

Is it just me or does the statement from Briere (Flyers) feel....cold?

Like no we wish him well or anything like that. Just "The Club will have no further comment at this time."

At least the Flames statement had something long the lines that he was working with mental health professionals and the sort.

Needless to say, hope everything with Hart is ok and he gets the help he needs. Going through depression/mental health issues really sucks and can severly affect the person and everyone around them.
