this comes down to whether you are suspending intent or result. Based on the league's history, they tend to focus on the result which is bad news for soucy.

if not for the cross check from zadorov, each of those 3 plays that occurred are not suspendable (mcdavid slash and the cross checks from Z and soucy).

I think all of the press it’s received without showing McDavids initial slash is also embarrassing for the NHL. I expect a one game suspension.

If the fans of Oilers that called canucks fans out when they complained after game 2 about the hits from behind as fault on ep and Hughes for turning into the boards , and the slewfoots also as partial their fault, and no consequences should come from it, you have to accept that McDavid also is at fault for engaging the scrum and making it extra. Don't care if you deem the slash a home run strike or a love tap, you don't go up to a hibernating bear that's already told u to f*** off, and poke it again.

Whether soucy gets what he gets move on for both sides, like you've dismissed the canucks and their cries after game 2. Game 4 is around the corner, and if you wanna yell revenge and hope Oilers go after the canucks best players, well again, let's see what happens if you poke that bear. I don't see the outcome being any better for the Oilers.

Either way, this series, and the playoffs for that matter for all teams, is, and has always been, a war of attrition. Both sides already feel the sting of injury. Getting more reckless won't help either side for their future endeavors

we should have seen the same happening after Connor McDavid carved up Quinn Hughes face and drew blood in a previous game... but alas we did not...Connor McGod can do whatever he wants to others but when he is touched the NHL is quick to call for a meeting with someone who harms the leagues darling princess. LOL. the NHL does not even have the balls to suspend/discipline or coach the officiating crew that victimized Hughes and the CANUCKS twice in one game...all hail Connor McDavid, have to wonder what his relationship is like with Gary Bettman...what a joke the league is

the big brain move would to be have a line brawl, but make sure ceci and nurse are on the ice. all 10 players in the box and then make ian cole and soucy play every 2nd shift for 5 mins. any fwd that hasnt scored for the oilers is free to join. then mcdavid/hyman and draisaitl can cook the canucks for 5 goals and then skinner can let in 4 and the oilers are 1 ahead after the 5 mins is up

Wasn't REALLY the initial thing though. The initial thing was the shot knocking McDavid off balance and that slash was retaliated against with a slash by Soucy, so lets cancel those out.

Soucy = Shove + Face Crosscheck
Zadorov = Blindsided Back Crosscheck
McDavid = ???

Why would they announce a 5k fine for Zadorov and a hearing for Soucy then? Its pretty clear it was a severe blow to the head and it was after the final buzzer. Soucy should get suspended.

Ya one was a cross check to the helmet on a rookie who did something stupid and the other was a cross check directly to the face to the best player in the world. I couldn’t care less who wins this series but that’s a suspension for sure. Not saying it should be 5 games but atleast 1.
