I watched the entire game, what are you trying to say here?View attachment 870104
Immediate aftermath. I get it though. No one actually watches the games or hunts down the full sequence to view more than a 15 second clip posted to Twitter before weighing in.
I hope the Oilers made sure to hug them extra tight so they know in the future that their captain is off limits.View attachment 870104

obviously he was trying to break mcdavids spine through his chest and the high contact was just a biproductI mean, anyone with a functioning set of eyes could see that.
The clip above is so disingenuous, leaves out the slashing beforehand.
This is the full clip:

The NHL has already deemed you need to be in control of your stick. He shouldn't be suspended. McDavid started the whole thing and his head immediately moved which is what caused the cross-check to the face.
That said, the NHL is also a joke by not announcing the date and time with the game being tomorrow. If you've already pre-determined it's going to be a suspension before hearing someone's case, why even have a hearing?
Saying McDavid whines and is unsportmanlike and should be more like Sid and Mack is laughable. Crosby and Mackinnon were the biggest whiner in the league lol. Do you guys even watch McDavid play? If the league truly calls penalty as it was intended, McDavid would put the Oilers on the PP 10 times a game. But the league doesn't want that. It's an unfair disadvantage.Well that's a mighty assumption and not true at all.
Calling him soft is a bit of a mis nomer tho. What he is is very unsportsmanlike and until he grows up and matures he will never be a guy that captains his team to a cup, Sid and Mac he is not.
He dives and embellishes and he whines and follows the refs around, it's absolutely pathetic and bush.
God I hope he's smartened up by 2026 because not only is it an embarrassment for our country but international refs love calling that type of shit.
As for the play yesterday it's a joke that Soucy might be suspended considering the scope of everything.
As for people saying Soucy started it he didn't.
The full sequence was #97 lightly slashed him and Soucy then pushed him and then #97 whacked him with both hands in a spot Soucy had been injured
obviously he was trying to break mcdavids spine through his chest and the high contact was just a biproduct
That just shows them standing around. They didn't do anything, showing a still doesn't prove you right any more. It's easy to find the clip, literally no one on the oil did anything physical other than try to pull it apart.
Sure. But none of that happened. There was no vicious hit to the back or slash to the head. The idea that a slash justifies crosschecking a guy in the face or that being slashed means you are allowed to viciously hit the player back is only something a moron would claim. The level of stupidity you find on this board hits new levels, but does provide comic relief.
I hope that this “response” gives you comfort when the team is golfing next weekView attachment 870113View attachment 870114
But yeah sure, because someone didn’t skate over with a chainsaw when they noticed the scrum, the team didn’t show up to support McDavid.
Our captain was just double cross checked?!?!! Let’s go hug em!View attachment 870113View attachment 870114

He’s their meal ticket. There should have been a response by the Oilers. Doesn’t look like a strong team first mentality imo.View attachment 870113View attachment 870114

The team is just too soft, and it starts from the top down.I hope that this “response” gives you comfort when the team is golfing next week
i dont know man, kinda looked like he was trying to snap his whole entire body in half and leave his legs under him like a cartoonCross-checks in a post-whistle scrum are as common as slashes.
What made this play stand out is the sudden position change of McDavid's head owing to Zadorov's cross-check from behind.
I agree based on this lack of response but would also like to say I do not think McDavid is soft at allThe team is just too soft, and it starts from the top down.

Imagine a team built around Petterson and Hughes calling other teams softThe team is just too soft, and it starts from the top down.
I consider a crosscheck to the face to be fairly vicious, whether it was fully intentional or not.Sure. But none of that happened. There was no vicious hit to the back or slash to the head.
Otherwise great post!
He'll only get a fine but deserves about a 1-2 game suspension. This is Pietrangelo territory but will walk away because McDavid wasn't really hurt.Seems like the general consensus of those higher than an everyday hockey fan think the play at WORST is a fine. Will be interesting to see what DoPS does
Normally when people talk about reaction and back up, they aren't talking about what you feel is support. For every action they want an equal reaction. If my captain got that, my hope in the response is an equal shot to back. But to each their own.View attachment 870113View attachment 870114

Sure but you’re an Oilers fan. Your view would carry more weight if you posted about Pettersson having his head driven into the boards or the nut shot to Hoglander. Fans only get outraged when it happens to their team.I consider a crosscheck to the face to be fairly vicious, whether it was fully intentional or not.
